Getting John Deere’s biggest planter ready to roll
With planting season right around the corner we are getting the planters ready to go. The 48 row John Deere planter needs some finishing touching before it hits the field.

Just found your channel. Old retired Iowa farmer here. Don't know your greatest limiting factor on putting out more video content but I have a notion your channel could be big.
Great video Zach
Keep making videos! I am extremely fascinated by agriculture in you part of the world.

Good job Zach Hi from Australia.
I’m jealous of two weeks of prep time in the field. In no dak we literally have 2 hours. From snow to holy crap we have to slam our crop in before insurance dates.

Just like Deere and anything that’s not, can’t ever just plug and play!
why not just mount the valve at a 45?

Great idea, you would save 2x 45s, but after looking at that part of the video again,, he probably then had to remove some metal on the side of the stairs, that the valve is screwd to. But its cind of easyer to watch if the valve is closed if the valve is mounted horisontaly, and the handle pointing down when closed.
🔥👊🔥⚙️🔨🏍🚜
i would call dealership send a technician.
I can only imagine how many good farmers you have displaced so you could play with this monster big iron. someday you will know what I am talking about.

In our area it’s mostly due to farmers getting old and retiring. If the kids don’t have a interest in farming then it gets rented out or sold to another local farmer . Farming has become a expensive business unlike the old day of making a living on 300 or 400 acres . Large farms with high acreage is required to make it profitable. But in our area those large farms are still family farms and most are several generations old . We farmed over 2000 acres at one time . My father was killed on a tractor in 2001 , my brother died in 2011 , my other brother got cancer in 2014 , and I’m 64 and retired now . None of our boys wanted to continue the farm and frankly I wouldn’t want to put them in deep debt . They can make nearly $100000 a year working in a auto plant so why work hard and be at the mercy of the weather and the markets ? The farm equipment is long gone and another farmer is farming our ground . It’s called Father Time and you can’t stop it .
