Ойын-сауық

In this video I talk about my cameras and that's about it.
120mm medium format film photography using the Rolleicord iv and the Yashicaflex.
I finally started developing my film at home so I'm going through all the steps and process of film photography.

Great video, Jean. Your getting the hang of film photography. If I didn't decide to develop my own film, I would not have gotten back into film. So simple and all mechanical. Ken

I got back into analog about 5 years ago and develop black and white and color at home now too. I find analog much more rewarding than digital, when a shot is good I know I did it soup to nut, no automation. Do some videos and show your work! I would love to see it! I have a Rollei as well put a matt maxwell screen on it. They are very bright and helped me nail focus almost 100% of the time.

I use a 8.1 megapixel Ricoh gr digital camera. Always in my pocket. I use a 1957 Yashica Mat with Kodak Trix. I have just bought a MPP Micropress 5x4 with a 135mm Schneider Xenar 4.7 lens. I have loaded Fomapan 200 sheet film. My work digital camera is a 2008 Nikon D300s with a Huongnu 35mm f2 and a Nikkor 24mm 2.8 af lens.

I look forward to seeing your film development process. You have a very good point about the cost difference versus sending film to a lab. I am leery about chemical disposal from the developer (?). Cheers from Ontario.

Yeah I still have to figure that out... where and how to dispose of it.

I've been curious on how many rolls of film you get out of the DF96 monobath mix / tubs. Do you develop multiple rolls at a time? When the DF96 goes bad, you might look into getting HC -110 developer and some fixer from a local supply shop. It really doesn't take much developer per roll of film and it's even more cost effective not to mention you can reuse the fixer. I get around 15 rolls fixed per 500ml of fixer solution I mix. As for what to do with spent developer, you could check with local photolabs to see if they will take it, or contact city waste to see what they recommend.

I never liked the idea of the monobad developers like Df96 since you hardly have any control and stop and fixer can stop working before the developer stops. But I'm shocked to see that the first roll of HP5+ came out that purple. When film has a purple cast it's time to change fixer I was told.

Well so far I pulled two rolls and they’re quite alright. Not so contrasty I could’ve gone a few seconds more but I figured for my first that I would follow the instructions. I don’t have any other b&w solutions to compare it to but I ‘ll show the images in a future video. What do you use for b&w? The 2 batb process?

My Rolleicord doesn't have the penta prism. I think yours had the glass changed, or maybe mine. :)

You say you use Ilford because they cost only 10 bucks?! Here in Europe you can find them for 6-7€, and I'm sorry but it's still very expensive! A HP5+ should cost 5€ at the most...

Yes well 6-7euro is about 10$ Cad. Oddly they are less expensive at the local camera shop then online.

Also Kodak is coming out with gold 120 which is color and will sell for 56$ for a 5 pack instead of 89$ for portra… that I can’t wait. It kinda hurts to buy kodak Portra. And again I’ve seen it more expensive online

@@3sixty2degres I didn't know you were canadian, thought it was US dollar. But still it's a little expansive... But what is really a shame is Kodak who sells 120 Tri X for 11-12€ now! 😱 In 2012 I used to buy it for less than 5€ a roll at the local shop...
