great video. safety is 100% paramount and something that really needs to be emphasized to new shooters. And also im glad you showed the proper method for emptying the gun. it has to be the most common frustration when around new shooters

Excellent stuff as always Lloyd. I always open the gun towards my stomach to trap the cartridges there. I will send this video to my new shooting friends Harry (14) and his dad Paul. Harry only started shooting last weekend and yesterday he and dad turned up in the bitter cold and cutting wind to do another two hours of DTL here in France. Top marks to them. Harry is eager to learn all he can at the moment so your videos will help him immensely.

Imo gun slips are not compulsory as long as the gun is broken, however some people can be funny about it. Some clubs even have a rule.

I thought about mentioning that but I feel like a newbie shouldn't have to think about dealing with that, an experienced shot should step in at that point.

@@lloydyp I agree, and that's my point. They don't know to stay pointing down range and waiting 20/30 seconds before opening the gun, I've seen many open the gun straight away before anyone had chance to tell them otherwise. just a thought, keep up the great content

Not usually, no. If you are on a shooting lesson, yes, but if you just turn up to shoot at most clubs, not so much.

Gamebore White Gold or Gamebore (Black Gold) Dark Storm for clay shooting? - is their ANY advantage using the Dark Storm over the White Gold for the price difference in your opinion?? (DS are 100 fps faster than WG I believe?)- cheers Lloyd, Dale 💥💥👍👍 Let me tell you what I think you'll say to me .... 'There is a tiny advantage using a faster and smoother cartridge like GB 'Dark Storm' - it depends on how deep your pockets are as to whether the tiny advantage is justified' - Am I somewhere close to the answer you would give maybe ???

My view on cartridges for 90% of shooters is that you should shoot the cheapest cartridge you can find. Premium cartridges offer an advantage on certain targets, but you will get more benefit out of practicing more with the money you save from not wasting it on Black Gold.

My view on cartridges for 90% of shooters is that you should shoot the cheapest cartridge you can find. Premium cartridges offer an advantage on certain targets, but you will get more benefit out of practicing more with the money you save from not wasting it on Black Gold.

Thanks for this Video. I am new to shooting and this is the vid i wanted to watch. I want to be known for being safe and getting it right 1st time. I dont care if i hit or miss a clay. I want to get the safe regime into me as 2nd nature. I would rather be known as a shit shot but safe. than a good shot and dangerous.

Good common sense, and would say it's not only new to the sport that can learn from this. You pass a driving test, and then bad habits creep/lazyness in. Nothing like reinforcing the reasons why it's done.
