Although many also wear it to work, as many workers of this time need not to go out under the scorching sun, but facing a computer for many hours of the day. A man on his own can wear asuit without any help in less than 15 minutes. However, a wife's help is sometimes given, both to speed up the process and to strengthen the marriage. If a man feels not too safe, he sometime would wear a kevlar vest underneath his suit. Not enough to stop high caliber bullets or arrow, but it's enough against pistols and knives. He then polish his shoes. Made out of leather, these shoes are sometimes different in color to the suit, giving the wearer some accent."

I think the 18th century is really overlooked. Lots of attention is given, in films and stuff, to the medieval times, occasionally the Renaissance, and then the 1800s, with the cowboys and Indians. But the 1700s really had a lot of bizarre stories, and characters insdie it. Pirates, for starters, but also so much more. It's really one of the most interesting ones.

  • @bailsaz

The reason it’s avoided in most movies etc is because of the amount of politics every individual was involved in at the time. Politics were at their height much as fashion was. While you may find 17-1800s politics interesting, many find them boring. Also there are some touchy topics that are written in history that others don’t believe or agree with causing lots of hysteria if you write history wrong in your movie or book etc. I think the late 1700s is some of the most fascinating times of human history.

They may have run the country, but they didn't build anything. The work was done by other people who had just as much potential to be great except they were born in the wrong class. That's what we must remember about these 'great' men - others could have done great things as well, but their talents were suppressed and their labor exploited in the name of 'nobility'. Athletes aren't expected to compete with steroid abusers; let's not compare our accomplishments to human rights abusers'.
