I been a MRI tech for 4 years! If you have high anxiety I have a few tips for you! Bring a friend or family member to come in room with you! Ask if they have music for you to listen while getting scanned, cover your eyes with a wash cloth or ask your doctor for a sedative before you schedule the test. Also ask the tech to give you a count down during the scan. Ask them to talk to you every 3 minutes. This really helps.Remember breath normal. Also don't get contrast unless its absolutely necessary.

I had an MRI last weekend, and this video reduced my anxiety because it helped me know what to expect. I kept my eyes closed the whole time and pretended I was at a Daft Punk concert (because of the noises). I also asked the MRI tech to talk to me between each set of images, and to tell me when we were halfway done. It was over faster than I thought it would be!

Me too. They gave me these fresh out of the dryer blankets and I was out like a light

I actually almost fell asleep during this procedure, it’s so relaxing.

I am going for my first one tomorrow and I hope is a very fast process.

I lost count how many MRI I had done, today I’m going for 3 with and without contrast.

i had one yesterday it was first time should of watched this first

I got an MRI when I was 10 and had broken my back (they didn't know it was broken yet lol. They had done an x-ray of my neck (even though we told them it was my back that i hurt) and sent me home. Then they called back saying that they may have seen something on T1 so they did the MRI). It was 1am so I was really tired and they just gave me these warm blankets and I fell right asleep even though it was loud. Didn't bother me one bit. Turns out T1 was fine. T3, T4, T5, and T6 were broken.

I HAD AN MRI YESTERDAY AND I WAS REALY SCARED AT FIRST BUT I GOT TO LISTEN TO MY FAVORITE MUSIC (sry all caps) and it was actually quite relaxing i would deffinitly do it again without hesatatioon

My hospital appointment cancelled I didn't go for my Mir scan because it's cancelled because the coronavirus, they have to make another appointment but not for a while after the coronavirus over first

Hey I got an MRI in April 15 and it went great the only thing that bothered me was the noise the machine made but you’ll get used to it. To me it depends how long you are in there I was there for 25 minutes then they gave me an injection then 10 more minutes so it depends on you.

Just got mine done. I was in that machine for 45 minutes. I was so uncomfortable because of the noise and it was getting warm.

@@Ansell417 Nah but I heard from other people it’s really loud and people with Tinnitus have said it increased it after taking it. But if you really need to get one then I recommend some very good earplugs to put on while you’re getting it done

My brother had to have one with an injection, he said it went in deep and hurt like hell

Hi! What was the result of your MRI? Did they find out what was causing your nausea and dizziness? My son has been having headaches and he’s going in for MRI on thursday. He’s only 7.

@@itsMeeeeeh hii in my mri scan they didn’t find anything but your son might actually be having migraines in my case i have migraines and a digestive problem but from what it sound like your son is having is a migraine maybe try and talk to a neurologist and ask them about if it’s possible migraines because migraines aren’t just headaches they can also be nausea and dizziness i hope your son feels better soon!!!

They do like different test throughout like they will have you stay still for like 3 or 5 minutes then you can move but try not to

Audrey Goetz yea I just had mine a few days ago, I didn’t have to sneeze or cough thankfully 😅 but yea I had one scan for 10 minutes and the other for 5 because it was of my jaw and the first one it had to be closed and the second one had to be opened.

My fear is having to use the bath room considering I have weak bladder ..

Had to do one a couple of weeks ago because I was in a science experiment about how the brain reacts to certain stimuli. Also, apparently the machine they used is 50 times more magnetic than normal medical ones. It was also very loud and claustrophobic.

Omg that is super small! The MRI i went to did not look that small! Edit: no it did..

@@unicornzrbae3199 agreed, they had me sit still with my legs elevated and my feet couldn’t do that for 45 minutes and they got really mad at me when I tried to move. I was really anxious about the iv (because I hate needles) and I hope I won’t have to do any more for the next couple years

@@unicornzrbae3199 surgery is not fun, I had it 5 1/2 weeks ago and I was fine the day of, but once the numbing wear off the next day you are in severe pain. I had to take oxy for a week and it was probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I hope your surgery goes well and you won’t have to deal with what I had to 🙏

@@Danny_Rink it’s mostly fragments being taken out of my ankle. But it’s been hurting non stop for 2 years. And when I sprained it again it didn’t really bother me. I’m just used to the pain at this point. The MRI was done a few minutes ago and it was honestly okay. I’m glad your surgery went well!

I’ve had an mri 20 times in my life and I’m 16, every time I go in, the doctors are shocked how many times I’ve had them 😂

The process of the MRI is a lot more uncomfortable and complicated then this video makes it out to be especially if your getting stomach mri. Which you have to drink a bunch barium sulfate fluid, Also IV contrast in arm, and a shot on the arm to slow stomach down. Never mind being put in the machine which is like a tunnel with ceiling one inch from your face with your entire body inside it. Also eat bids and head phones are out on you and the head rest you put you head in is extremely uncomfortable and they put equipment on top of your body to before putting you in the machine. Def do your research before going in. I was blind side and was not told any of this info going into my appointment. Call your doctor or mri office and ask for detail Ed instructions and how it’s going to be

Well there are many different forms of Mri , of course an abdominal one might be uncomfortable but it’s not really that horrific for everyone especially if you like have one of the head for example you just lay still for like 30 mins and it’s done .

I agree its so close to the face, I didnt carry on with mine well I freaked out. Im claustrophobic and the thought of being enclosed and so close to my face the top of the tunnel I felt suffocated before they could even get me in the tunnel. I couldn't handle it 🥲

@@ashleyy-gx5fr depending on the model of MRI and how much of your brain/spine they are scanning it can take 20-60 minutes inside of the scanner, about 66-90% of the time the scanner will be running and rest of the time transitioning between different parts of imaging process. The intake (preparation) for the scan can take 10-20 minutes or longer if you need more accomodations

F**k that last week I had MRI scan is feel so good the doctor was give to me headphones to listen music then I close my eyes I was chill like been holiday on ibiza then after that something touch me kill all my feelings when I open my eyes is was doctor say done I say doctor put music on I want stay here a bit longer 😂😂😂🤣🤷🏽‍♂️
