Aw, your hamster is sooo cute 🐹 It does really need a bigger cage though. I recommend a bin cage as they give so much more space, if you’d like any ideas I have videos about bin cages and lots of other hamster vids on my channel 💖

She is the cutest girl I've seen. But she dose need a bigger cage you can get an ikea detolf is like 60-70 dollers and it's the same size as a 800 doller fish tank

HI! Awesome video ;) Just one tip-that cage is very small! Its a very common mistake so your good but I recomend getting a larger cage. Bin cages are great!! They also need at least 6 inches of bedding :) Cool video tho!

A good mix to use is the sunburst gourmet and mix in some mazuri rat and mouse food diet Hope that helps🤗

Your new hamster is so cute! But sadly your care is improper. I’m just gonna list some stuff about hamster care to help you out! Let’s start out with most important, cage size. The minimum cage size in the U.S. is 450sq in of unbroken floor space, but personal I think 600sq in and up is always the way to go. There are a lot of misinformation about their cages, especially since chain pet stores sell small cages for money and don’t think about the animals life. When hamsters are in small cages it causes tons of stress and the fact that a pet store employee told you chews would stop bar biting which is a stress sign is concerning. Some great options for cages are bin cages, 40 gal breeder tank or bigger, ikea detolf or a diy cage! Next let’s talk about bedding and why it’s extremely important! Having tons of bedding is extremely important for hamsters since they make burrows in the wild. 6in of bedding is the minimum but more is always better for them. Also the wheel the cage comes with is to small and can cause back issues which is never good. I recommend getting a 7-8 in wheel for your little robo! That’s some of the basics that are pretty important, I HIGHLY recommend looking at Victoria Raechels channel. She makes tons of hamster care videos and goes in depth about enrichment and cage size! I also recommend doing your own research as well. Just to clarify I’m NOT a professional, but have done years of research! I do currently have a hamster of my own and I’ve seen stress signs is smaller cages before even with floor space over 600 sq in. I ended up having to building her a massive cage so she could live comfortably in my care! Hamster can be very expensive that’s why I don’t recommend them for most people! I read your whole comment and honestly this was very helpful. I did an impulsive buy and didn’t do much research but I will make things better for my baby. I will also look into Raechels channel. Thank you 🙏🏼. Was the food that I got okay? I asked the worker for the best food and they said that the one I got was the Best Buy now I’m questioning that lol

@@ItzJessiesWorld I wouldn’t recommend it since it’s just a block diet. The best food on the market and the one that I personally use is Higgins sunburst seed mix with mazuri rat and mouse protein blocks! Also fresh vegetables and fruits are good in their diet, I find the ones that our hamster safe on the hamster hideout forum they have a great nutritional chart! Also just a tip some really good hamster treats are Gerber baby puffs since they’re low and sugar and most hamsters love them! So happy I could help you and your hamster!

The food is bad for her I recommend mixing that with seed mix yes they do that picky stuff but you have to only feed them a certain amount and not leave the bowl full and scatter feeding is also really good for them I also recommend getting her a tank instead

oh no way really? yeah I learned real quick once everyone in the comments started educating me about it. I also seen a few videos on KZread from the recommended comments.

I have a 200qt bin cage and my hamster loves it it’s big/high enough to have creative freedom and have enough bedding o recommend at least 7-8 in MINIMUM of bedding and have a big wheel for your hamster I recommend a 8in wheel and especially for your Type hamster a SILENT wheel because they run a lot and r the fastest Species. And the power of five food isn’t the best to be fed alone I recommend mixing it with Higgins sunburst hamster and gerbil food and that power of five food abt 75% Higgins and 25% of power of 5 because power of five is high in protein but not in other nutrients but Higgins is higher in nutrients but not protein so it balances it out I recommend watching this hamster KZreadr Victoria Raechel she has a lot of videos that are helpful

Oh ok yea the food was suppose to be the best according to the people at the store but I’m glad you comment this as well. I just want the beat for her. Also yogurt drops aren’t the best but if you still want to use the yogurt drops maybe just give her one or two every two weeks just because the have a lot of sugar

Hey there! You seem to know that your cage is too small, and are fixing that and I really appreciate that! I'm just here to include a couple more tips haha. One critical factor is the wheel! It appears way too small and even for a roborovrski, I recommend at least an 8 enclosed wheel (because they run extremely fast and are very small, causing flipping and possible injury). Another one would be to make sure to have a sand area or a large sand bath as your hamster appears to be a pied roborovrski and robos have a sand environment in the wild so it is critical for them to have a lot of sand! Additionally, bedding should be at least 6 inches as hamsters love to burrow (the more the better). Another topic that isn't largely mentioned is enrichment!! Things such as herbs and sprays are a great addition to the cage for your hamster to be less bored! I wish you the best on your new hamster!

hey! your hamster is adorable, but idk how you would take this but i would like to give you some pointers. okay so, first thing: the cage is unfortunetly too small for your hamster, any hamster. i would recommend getting a bin cage. which is a lot more bigger and costs less. critter trails are too small for hamsters. the next thing i would like to point out is the wheel is a bit too small for your hamster since hamsters can arch/break their back if its too small. pet stores can sometimes be wrong for their pet care and dont care about the hamster they will only give you false information and can sometimes be led to hamsters getting too stressed and dying. i think the food you have got for her is fine. just make sure not to give her any yogurt drops since they have alot of sugar in them which can give them diabetes (i think thats how you spell it) so its not good to give them any. I think as its your second hamster you are doing well apart from the things i said! i hope you take this stuff to heart and consider what is bad and good for your hamster!

Hey thank you so much for this information that you have given. I won’t take anything the bad way I’m super glad everyone has been commenting these type of comment. When I had my first hamster it was many many years ago when I was way younger. I will definitely be getting a bin since everyone is recommending it and I won’t give her the drops I don’t want her to get sick or anything. I just was the best for her and unfortunately I trusted the store to give me the best things they had. I’m so grateful for your help and I will continue to do research as I now do not trust what the store said lol. Thank you once again this was very helpful.

So that cage is very small and will not be a good size for any hamster A good cage to start would be a bin cage preferably a 160 quart or 40 gallons The yogurt drops are very sugary and should not be given to your hamster daily Give it to your hamster maybe once a week Hamster should be given the eighth protein in their food so the food mix you have is fine but you should mix in another type of food I recommend mazuri rat and mouse food diet

Hi I know this video is two years old and the hammy most likely passed away but I would def recommend upgrading you cage, I rec a bin cage they can be super cheap, always hamsters need at least 6 inches of bedding, and they need a good variety of food, def wouldn't rec yogurt drops! Also a bigger wheel would def be ideal because smaller wheels can hurt their little backs

Hi ur hamster is verey cute. But they need a bigger cage I would suggest a bin cage they are cheap and easy to get. Seed mixes are good for hamsters. Just remember to feed hamsters every second day. Give them like 2 tbs of food

i suggest belle / bella for her name .you can always use a large mug / jug to pick her up until you are more confident with handling her yourself.as she is so small and probably wriggly i would for safety use this method if you want to put her somewhere else say on cleaning days .

Critter Trails are very bad for hamsters and are way too tiny. I heard you hamster was a female? Is she a syrian or a dwarf? Female syrians tend to be a *lot*more picky with their cages! I would get a bin cage, and maybe something from IKEA? Like a PAX for example or a DETOLF. You can join the Hamster Hideout Forum if you'd like for more information! I'm CoconutTheDwarf on there!! Watching Victoria Raechel, Hopping Hammy, etc. would be very helpful! I hope this helped a little bit!

Hello yeah I’m starting to realize that what they told me at the store probably isn’t the best for my new baby. I’ve been getting a lot of comments about the cage and I’ll be updating it and returning the one I bought. Also I’ll get better food cause I was told at the store that the food I got was the beat but someone said it wasn’t. I’ve been giving her carrots and stuff as well. She’s a robo hamster. I know you probably already have a name but you should name it Cleo. Also I would suggest not getting the ball were they can rome around and instead getting a play pin or sitting the the tub. And also probably only give her one strawberry drop a week because of all the sugar! I suggest getting a sand bath cause dwarf hamsters LOVE sand baths. Sand baths are also very beneficial, they provide enrichment and help keep your hamsters coat clean. Dwarfs like to roll around in the sand and it helps get all the access oils off of them. ( actual water baths aren’t safe for hamsters cause it stresses your hamster and removes the oils that are actually needed!). I don’t know if anyone already suggested this but I thought it was important to mention. Also your hamster is so cute! Lastly, I just want to say thank you for being so open about learning the proper care information cause most people ignore it and just go by what the petstores tell them.
