@@thesfam6915 you irresponsible people don't get you gerbils in a small cage, your child will be devastated when they chew out. You should be more prepared for the pet. You should by small animals from ethical breeders because they are much easier to tame.

@@stevensousa124 Jesus. Calm down Jamal. Just because they did wrong caring for a pet doesn’t make them fully irresponsible and to do agree with the ethical breeder part. Most rodents from chain pet stores are unhealthy.

gerbils chew through plastic really easily I would recommend getting a better cage but I’ve seen that people have already recommended that. also gerbils need to have have friend gerbils.

I really recommend a 20-40 gallon tank and adding a metal barres high rise on top.This cost effective setup ensures you’re gerbil a happy and healthy life

Yes that’s true but when we bought him he was the last one, and they said it’s too late to put a friend with him if they don’t live together right away!

@@thesfam6915 oh ok. If you ever do change habitats again (I know you already have) Maybe you could introduce them as they both explore. But y'know, different animals have different personality! Maybe they're happy being alone. Too bad we don't have animal translators

@@thesfam6915 I've also heard that sometimes young ones (Less than 10 weeks) can be introduced pretty well but i'm not sure how credible the source is, also a younger one might be a larger commitment

@@thesfam6915 the new cage still isn’t big enough just look at a vid on yt you’ll see and you should bond gerbil if you wanted one then just get a hamster which once again needs at least 450 sq inches of floor space and they both need lots of bedding

Your gerbils adorable however Gerbils can easily chew through thick PVC pipe plastic. So chewing through that cheap plastic will be really easy. They also need a buddy cuz gerbils are social. So please look into getting an enclosure that’s glass. Like a 40 gallon breeder tank. Besides the material of the cage, it’s also way too small. Please do your research.

hey! by now you've probably read lots of comments saying how the cage is too small, and I see that you've upgraded but its almost the same size as the old one? its really really small and I mean it, look into getting a bin cage, a nice large bin, or even better, get an ikea detolf, that would be PERFECT, and always remember ,minimum 11 inch wheel, 6 inches of bedding, hides (more than 1) and toys for them to chew, for the lid you can do a diy, lots of tutorials on KZread, or you can use the two glasses that come with the detolf, put one in each corner and in the middle a pantry mesh shelf, you can get one in Home Depot for 20 bucks and its perfect for it, if you're not willing to do that look into donating the animal to someone that knows how to take care of it, GERBILS AND HAMSTERS OR ANY OTHER SMALL PET IS NOT A CHILDS GIFT!!!

They can be a child’s gift if they are responsible enough. My younger cousin got a pet hamster and she is taking care of it like a boss! It comes down to the child and this child looks responsible so I think you should improve your point of view on the ending. I agree with everything else but your ending needs to be changed as it is not true.

Y’all really need to watch the full video before commenting. Someone said watch Victoria Raechal but she has Hamsters, Bunnies, cats and crested geckos. You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, well in KZread saying: You shouldn’t judge a yt video by it’s thumbnail. You should only comment after the video and if you have something that will help. I’m not going to say anything about your guy’s care in this video cuz there’s already enough comments. I know a lot of people made comments that seem like they commented after the video but that doesn’t mean their aren’t people here that comment before they watch the video. It annoys me when people comment before video and I just wanted to get that out. Comment👏after👏the👏video👏people

I have a gerbil but they like to chew on stuff but it's okay cuz I still love my gerbil

I watch just in case they chew through the plastic. You can use aquariums and use double sided tape and put the bottle to th side.

Any kind of mouse should have a bigger cage than that, please at least get a bin cage

It was actually very easy to clean. He would run around the whole room exploring while I did it. We don’t have this cage anymore we have a huge one.

Hamsters and gerbils need more than 400 sq inches of floorspace if you are gonna have other gerbil/hamster go buy a storage bin of 106 qt latch and then make sole holes in the tape and then put bedding and all,or a 30-40 gallon tank aquarium for the gerbil and hamster have a lot of space

You should’ve done all your research first because if you did you know critter Trail is like bad for like any animal they need like a wider space not more levels

get a 20 gallon tank for the gerbils he will love it not the Kaytee critter tail cage

It’s called rat bite fever. A really good reason why you shouldn’t get rodents from pet stores like Petsmart, Petco, pets at home and Petland. Instead you should get rodents from ethical breeders, shelters and rescues. If you can’t do that then I really don’t think a rodent is right for you because rodents from chain pet stores = unhealthy rodents most of the time unfortunately and I don’t think anybody should support that. If you wanna know why their rodents are usually unhealthy is because they use rodent mills. Im not going to explain a rodent mill because they make me tear up. I hope you can get a mice from a ethical breeder (Best option) so it is less prone to diseases.

The bacteria can enter the body directly through a bite wound, open skin, or mucous membranes such as in the eyes, nose, or mouth. When handling rodents carrying the bacteria or through contact with their saliva, urine, or droppings. as long as you're careful you'll be okay

That is really poor gerbil care the cafe is way too small and the wheel and they chew play and you must think oh it’s fun and colorful for kids and has tubes but no that’s bad care

im sorry but that cage is to small for any living insect you should get a 40 gallon apuarium. i got my 40 gallon from petco for $50 and you got that itty-bitty critter trail for $59.99 or even more you are influencing thousands of people to give pour care the there pets im trying to say this as nice as possible its just that the cage is way way way way way way way to smalllllll i suggest watching Victoria Raechel on youtube please look in to a bigger cage.

You shouldn't get a any pets without doing weeks and weeks of research. you can't just buy a pet, give it food and water, and expect everything to be fine. You need to know way more. I'm honestly unimpressed
