So glad you are enjoying my videos! I am doing a video where I go over some of the settings, I'll probably release it on the 12th! But here are some of the things so you can have the answers now! I do not do automatic order routing. I have the return label say Printify's address. The only thing the customer see's of yours if you have their address for returns, is your shop name. The "invoice info" is for your invoices that printify sends you each month. I have my orders go through automatically every day at 10am. I put everything from Printify onto a credit card. Hope this helps!

@@CassiyJohnson thank you so much for this and your quick response! This is super helpful. I look forward to that video. I guess my only other question is since Printify is asking for a credit card or PayPal account (from what I recall) do you have to cover the initial cost of the orders initially? Maybe this will be covered in that video. Thanks again.

Wouldn’t hurt to reach out again just in case! Sorry that’s happening to you but yet just keep hustling in the meantime! I really recommend buying some super nice ones in the future but here is an Etsy shop that sells really decent ones for $1.53 each! Literally if all you can afford is one, then buy it in one color and just post all your designs on just that one mockup until you get some sales and can afford more. It will be 10x better than using Printify mockups. www.etsy.com/shop/SmoothStudioMockups?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1084612813

Hope you got your store back already, usually they are pretty quick! In the meantime I would research to find new niches to design for, make the design, and list them in Printify. Then when your store is ready, all you need to do is publish to Etsy and finalize the listing there! Best of luck!

Another wonderful insightful vid Cassiy! Thank you so much. Q. As I look at the list of best sellers, I notice many are selling their garments for less than it costs me to buy the item through Printify e.g. lots of sub-$10 sellers. How do you compete with that, without taking a loss? Any guidance much appreciated.

That is all just click bait pricing strategies! Actually click on the listings and go through the options to buy and you'll see usually only 1 item for sale for that price and a high priced delivery. Thank you for these great tips, Cassiy! I always look forward to your videos. I’ve been comparing different SEO research tools and I noticed they are each showing different data for monthly search volume and competition. Drastic differences, too! Do you have any experience comparing different tools for keyword research? I.e., Erank vs. Sale Samurai. Or any tips to help analyze how accurate the data is? I’m not sure which keyword research tool would be best to use going forward, especially when both say different things.
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
Hi Nicole! So all of these companies are just trying to analyze Etsy's data and I'm sure none of it could be 100% accurate. I think these tools are good guides but I would still rely heavily on using similar SEO to best selling listings. Because if someone has a best seller badge then their SEO is absolutely working! I actually didn't use any SEO tools for my first 2 years and built my biz literally just on copying best sellers SEO. So don't feel like you need these or have to rely on them. I like Sale Samurai and Everbee because they help me do what I do anyways faster but I don't fully rely on either of them.

Hey, thanks for the video! It's a great help. I was wondering, are you doing anything to spot whether you're getting repeat customers due to maintaining a theme in your shop? I heard someone say - and it seemed reasonable enough to me - that most people search for what they're looking for, rather than...idk, they would browse a sellers page after a purchase, per say. And I'm not saying it couldn't help, but I wonder if there's any way to figure out the odds that it has a real impact. As a to-be seller I don't know how much privacy customers are afforded to the people they buy from in that regard, I suppose. Thanks again!
Thank you for the word of encouragement! I needed them because sometimes feel so overwhelmed. I’m spending every spare minute working on my shop, searching for mock ups, making designs, setting up my LLC and EIN etc. I’m not sure what order to be doing all this? Lol. I’m working hard but feel like I’m not being as productive as I could be? Any suggestions? Thanks!
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
I read a book that really helped me called "The 4 hour work week" and essentially what it teaches you is that only some of the things you are doing actually make you the money. So for you, I'd recommend buying 3-4 SUPER nice mockups for each product, and then be done with that. You don't need tons, just a few of the right ones. Try to avoid wasting time looking at stats/favorites. The LLC can wait until you get some sales rolling in, no rush. The main thing to focus on is research a best selling listing, research how to make a best selling design in that niche, make the design, list it. Then move on to the next one! If you are feeling overwhelmed then just literally do these one at a time until it starts to feel easier!
Trying to list my first t-shirt on Etsy. Having trouble getting Canva to save designs with transparent background. I have canva pro and have been watching all of your videos -- so helpful! Any ideas? Thank you!
Hey, thank you for this inspiring video. Could you make it clear how to choose the right tags? what I mean is that I should choose the big shops tags, or most common tags, or least common tags. Thank you...
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
Don't overthink the tags, see what other best sellers are using for theirs and mix them together to find the right combination for yourself! Use some more specific ones like what would they wear this shirt to, or who would it be a great gift for etc. But most times the most obvious SEO is the best SEO!
Can you make videos on how to use the ads on Etsy?
Hi Cassiy Thanks so much for all of your videos. I’m still working on trying to get my first sale! But I was wondering, have you considered making a video on how the payments work in printify? When I first opened my shop, I was so confused (and still kinda am) on how the payment account works. Thanks!
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
I actually just made a video about things you need to understand when you start with Printify. The payment account didn't confuse me at all so I'm sorry I'm not sure exactly what you want to know? I guess maybe you are wondering how the money works in general? Here's a quick breakdown, let me know If this answers it 1. Someone buys from you on Etsy (24.99 for example) 2. Printify gets the order automatically and then charges your credit card/debit card, the cost for the t-shirt plus shipping costs. ($12.87 for example) 3. Etsy takes out their Etsy fees ($2.82 would be the Etsy fees on a $24.99 item) 4. Etsy pays you $22.17 5. You keep the difference of what Etsy paid you and you paid Printify. ($9.30 for this example)
@SP.Addams
Жыл бұрын
@@CassiyJohnson How do you manage the difference? Do you manually separate the funds into dif accounts? Is there a way to automate that? Seems like a lot to calculate and manage.
@cherisee1
Жыл бұрын
@@CassiyJohnson thank you for the breakdown. I’m probably making it more confusing than what it is. I guess we are fronting the cost of the shirts and reimbursing ourself once funds are released from Etsy? When you first started, did you just have a set amount to use for the first few orders you received?
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
@@cherisee1 I have always used a credit card to get the bonus points for spending the money! I have a 2% cash back card and eventually that really starts to add up! In the beginning, Etsy usually puts you on "payment reserves" where they keep part of the Etsy payment until you ship the item. They do this in case you are a scammer and just take peoples money for example. So in the beginning, I'd recommend having a few hundred dollars just to float the cost just those few days or week.
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
@@SP.Addams I have all of it Automatic. So you can open a new credit card and bank account for your business. Have the funds automatically charged to your credit card from Printify. Then set up automatic payments for your credit card. Then have your Etsy payments automatically debited into your bank account. So then at the end of the month, you can just take out some money to save up for taxes and then take out the rest to keep as the profit. It's not a lot to manage, just wanted to breakdown what's actually happening.
"You're probably a new seller with less than 100 sales". I have one sale so far :) Maybe even half a sale because it hasn't been delivered yet :p I'm freaking out that there aren't any problems with my very first sale while I try to look forward to how to get the next 99 :D

Sorry, one more question. I LOVE the idea to list shirts for friend and family to get the ball rolling. If the shirts aren't really something we will sell in the future (ie. because its not a good Niche or they're personalized) do we remove them once they purchase them?
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
What I'd recommend is making a custom listing. So you start the listing on Etsy instead of Printify and have the shirt mockup say something like "Your custom text here" then each time someone orders it, you make the shirt custom and then add it to Printify. That way you can still have reviews on your item! But you'd be surprised how often someone wants a funny saying that you CAN keep up for sale! Here is a video on how to do personalized orders kzread.info/dash/bejne/eot9yLyfiKrbfaw.html

Hmm interesting, mine is now coming up in my normal Chrome Browser. I'm not sure why it's showing up sometimes and not others! Maybe try a different browser if you have one!
Thanks Cassiy! Are you still doing the beginners monthly couching?

Hi Maria! It's a little more complicated to get started than I thought so I am still working on getting it all together. If you have emailed me interested then I will send you the info as soon as I get it up and going

Thank you for the informative video! I have a question: for the niche research, which tool are you suggesting Everbee or Sale Samurai? TIA!

kzread.info/dash/bejne/eZ2BmMOHZ8nFdrw.html I recommend using Etsy for niche research! I use Everbee along with it to make it quicker but really I just look through Etsy to see what is selling!

Thank you for your valuable advice. I’ve opened my shop around Christmas ( wish I found you sooner ) I have about 60 items but no sales yet 😢 I am getting views and opened Pinterest. Is it because I don’t have reviews or sales? I wonder if I should keep uploading because I just paid my first Etsy bill already
Hey Cassiy, how do you find out if graphics are copyrighted if they have no words? I just watched you copyrighted video and wanted to find out the right way to look this up?
I’m having a hard time figuring out if I need a sellers permit to sell on Etsy and a resale certificate to purchase from printify. Could you please give me some insight on this? Thank you!
So I recently looked up my Etsy name to see if it was trademarked and it is. Will that be an issue and do I have to change it? Thanks for all these videos they are a life saver!
Hey, Cassiy. I wonder if it's too late to make Halloween and autumn/fall or Thanksgiving design now?

No it’s not too late at all! Now is exactly the time to be listing for those!
Do most sellers start out by opening up a business account that is separate from their personal banking account and a separate credit card to cover their business purchases?
Scrolled thru but couldn’t find this question. How do you know if your design needs work because it is not good or isn’t getting traffic enough to be noticeable? Can you direct me to a video of yours that would help?
Hi Cassiy, I just had a question... when you duplicate listings in etsy (for example if you want to do the same shirt - but have one listing featuring the thumbnail in white, and one featuring the thumbnail with a black shirt and maybe a different heading...) do you do the duplication in the printify end or just copy the listing and change it up in etsy? Thanks heaps, I'm thinking of doing a little bit of this with a few of my listings to see if that helps sales :)

I like to do it in Etsy, just don't change the design or anything, this is only a good option if you are just changing which picture is the thumbnail or changing the title/tags. Go back and watch my video "How to create 50 listings in one day" video and it should explain all of it really well!

@@CassiyJohnson thanks again for your feedback Cassiy! Just one more question, have you noticed if your listings with flat lays or with model mockups sell better? I'm just curious if you think one does better than the other :)
Hi Cassiy I enjoy your training videos, however every time I make my T-shirt mock-up and try to load it for my Etsy store it says files needs to be less than 10 mg? Please advise how to correct this I don’t have any real tech skills. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your encouragement always!!❤️🥰🙏🏻

You are probably saving your mockups as a PNG file instead of a JPEG file. Try saving them as a JPEG and it should work perfect!
Thanks for your content. I’m wondering how you sell kids shirts that would need the design sized down? Printify site noted some print shops don’t size down automatically, and MD was one of them. Have you sold children’s sizes?
@CassiyJohnson

I sell a few kids shirts but not many, I'm not sure what you mean though on having them size down automatically. I use Swiftpod for all of my kids stuff and have never had any issues with the prints or their sizes!

@@CassiyJohnson usually the graphic needs to be smaller for kid’s shirts. That’s what I meant by “sized down.” Maybe swiftpod does that automatically.

@@Rebecca-xr6vx When you upload the png, you can drag it to be smaller or larger on the kids shirt on Printify!
Can you post a listing without a store or do you build a store first?
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
You have to have a store first but you could post a listing before filling it out/branding it but watch this video on branding your shop, you could do it in less than 20 minutes and it will make a really big difference! kzread.info/dash/bejne/aotq0ZaLhbKfiaw.html Don't overthink it, just get started
How many listings should I do while getting started listing mugs?
@CassiyJohnson
Жыл бұрын
It's less about how many listings and more about the quality of the listings. I'd make sure like I said to do your research to ensure you have a super high quality listing. Great design that is in a trending style, the niche is in demand, nice mockups, photo cards, description etc. And once you are done with that one, just move on to the next one... forever. You never know when you'll hit with a listing and it will get a bunch of sales.
Hi! Thank you for your video! I 've found you in the interview with a Ever bee creator. Could you tell me if is it allowed to set a location of my store in US if I live in the UK? I asked Etsy but they didn't replied.. They must be busy...
Do you think it’s a bad idea to use the same design on to different shirts? For example I use the same design on a gildan 5000 and bella canvas but call one fitted and the other over sized.

I'm from the UK but currently living in Mexico. Is it possible to create an Etsy store for a US market using a US supplier as a Brit? Or legally do I need to start this up as a UK business only? And if I sell to a UK market I'm guessing I should only use UK suppliers otherwise shipping costs will be very high?
