People have commented in other Midnight Special videos that the audience was generally instructed to sit still and not make any noise for some reason. It really stands out though.

Hello Midnight Special, I saw this episode when it first aired. At the end of this broadcast as the credits were rolling James Brown performed a song entitled, "Everybody Wanna get Funky one More Time" it is a rare classic and the ONLY time he ever performed it on TV. Is it possible that you could air this? This request may fall on deaf ears or never be seen, but I had to try. I'm putting it out there in the universe. I was 16 when I last saw this and it would mean so much.

It doesn't matter if he was ten or fifteen years past his prime in this performance because he was Great Here!! He more than Still had it!! And that song is Super Funky, Groovy, and I can't help but get up and dance, and I'm 63 years old Already!! Being that the crowd is Young should be All The More that They Should be Up and Dancing!! What a Dead Crowd!! And All The People Complaining about This Dead Crowd, Have a Right To!!👍👍

James Brown's prime as a performer was in 74-77, his physicality, vocals and dance ability had all surpassed what he was in the 60s, just because he wasn't as popular by then doesn't change that. This has become very clear having watched and listened to a lot of James Brown live. It might not be my favourite era but it was objectively his best. Also 15 years before 1976 was 1961, that was before any live performance he'd done had been recorded.

@@VinVonVoom Nah, I would say '74 cos that's when Three The Hard Way came out, although his actual "acting" probably peaked in the '60s when he was fresh out of football. I always thought Fred Williamson was better frankly, but if you say it's funky, to each his own player...✌🏽✊🏽
