I have a blue point ragdoll. He is 20 years old! Has been indoors his whole life. He read the book on being a Ragdoll--does it perfectly. My buddy, I will miss him so much when he goes, I am a 70 year old man and I will cry my heart out when he goes. Dreading the day. He now suffers from FARS--look it up. I give him meds that keep it under control. Common with very old Ragdolls as they have Burmese blood. His name is Felix and I love him so much. I have no wife or children so he is very important to me. When he goes I will be all alone.

I always end up adopting another cat when I’ve lost one. Since I’m getting older I’ve been adopting senior cats (I have more than one). Senior cats are often overlooked in lieu of younger cats or kittens. Also, I can relate to a lot of issues older cats have because I’m experiencing getting older too. 🐱

On October 3rd my husband and I were taking our evening walk and found what we thought was a white kitten out on the street. We asked our neighbors if anyone had lost her but nobody claimed her. It was getting cold so we brought her home and set her up in my husband’s workshop with food, water and a makeshift sandbox. We already had 4 cats and this little one was infested with fleas. Fast forward 2 months and she’s been spayed, dewormed and doesn’t have any fleas. She looks a lot like a fawn ragdoll with the medium length hair and blue eyes, cream ears and tail. When I took her to the vet, I was told she was closer to one year old but she’s very small and has unfortunately lost all her front teeth as well as a couple of molars. Needless to say, she’s flourished under our care, with plenty of food, a warm place to sleep and no more parasites to bug her and make her uncomfortable. My other furbabies are not very keen on her but the youngest (18 months) sometimes plays with her. Now that she’s safely indoors, she’s become very playful and is a great cuddler. We named her Luna because of the full moon that was out that night which allowed us to see her but we call her Fluffle because of how fluffy she looks.

These cats are incredibly beautiful, and your voice is very relaxing to listen to. I love the Ragdoll's personality. Docile, gentle, sociable... sounds perfect. These cats are so precious and sound like great companions.

I'm allergic to cats and developed asthma from our neigbor's cat that often visited us. However, I decided that living my life without cats isn't worth it and got a flame mitted ragdoll a year ago. I have become almost entirely tolerant to his allergens despite having had severe reactions when he first came to us. We're now getting a bicolor tortie girl to accompany him.

Ragdolls are my favorite i used to have one she was my world 🥺

I cannot decide whether to have a puppy or a ragdoll kitten. What do you recommend. I know it wont be the same but I really want a cat as well.

When I get my own house, I'm going to get a mixed Ragdoll. (Since purebreds are pretty expensive) Rn, my cat is a tabby/Ragdoll mix and acts EXACTLY like a Ragdoll! But her fur and size is basically a tabby!

I dread the day she makes her way to kitty heaven, and hope I will find another sweet raggy similar to her. Very unusual breed, indeed! Mine was a free adoption as a kitten so it may be a long while before I can afford the price of another purebred. As I have many barn cats, I will not be totally alone, but these ragdolls are like soulmates. And stay close by at all times.

My ragdoll loves outside. She spent years unsupervised outside but I don’t think there were many other cats in the area.. later in another place she was injured by one. Now we are in an apartment and she demands I take her out to the beach every day but now it’s always supervised :) My friends ragdolls have always been indoor only and that works for them. But now that she knows and loves outside so much, I’ll never be able to keep her in. It’s cute walking her on the beach though so I don’t mind :)

I havw a fire-point ragdoll we rescued back in 2017 She came from a hoarders house with 23 other cats, she had cat flu, overgroomed, terribly shy, and fur loss. Now shes a happy, go-lucky cat that loves humans and doesn’t scurry away like she wouldve done 3 years back

I think I have a mink sepia rag doll she has calico print though but long medium silky coat and she always follows my under my feet flops when I pick her up she can't stand being alone and not as many teeth and the first cat I got allergic reaction to and her hair has ruined many vacuums

Please answer me, because I dwell on getting one but I'm afraid my - futur -cat will be sad. What the difference between a mink and traditional?

My sister has a mink ragdoll, and she's the most calm and sweet kitty I've ever had the pleasure to be an uncle to, and can we talk about how SOFT and fluffy they are?! She hates being cuddled tho. She likes taking walks weirdly enough.

The first Ragdoll pattern looks suspiciously like a Birman cat breed. The Birman breed look very similar to Ragdolls but don't have blue eyes.

Did you get her from a breeder or byb? Also, how old was she when you got her? You are right however I want to ask how she might have been socialised or her previous experience?

If the environment allows, you should always allow your cat to go outside. I have a bsh/ ragdoll boycat mix and he is the most beautiful & adorable cat ever....he love his nightly walks outside and is very well behaved. Always comes running home when being called. He is almost like a dog in that respect.

I don’t agree, there’s a bunch of predators out there that could harm and kill your cat, and not to mention cats being stolen. Both happens all the time. :/ The lifespan of an indoor cat is usually about 15-17 years and an outdoor cat like 10 years left. As long as you stimulate and socialize your cat enough, you could have like any cat as an indoor cat.

Try your hardest to adopt dont shop !!!
