The Sith Audio Toddler business model of selling shoes individually is pure marketing genius. As experienced parents know, you'll end up with just one shoe at some point anyways, so you need only to buy one right off with these and you're there! Great detail on the review. Enjoyed the description of the song parts to highlight the speaker's characteristics. That directional cough in the recording you mention was very informative. Oddly enough, my spouse experienced something similar when accompanying me to the proctologist's office and I turned my head different directions when coughing. Those D320 at such a sweet price will look really nice under the tree this year. Thanks for all the nice product and deals you brought to our attention this year. Happy Holidays!

Bought these on your rec. From the UK here and our fire sale seems to have been a while ago now (down to £80 on Amazon). Anyhow, got a pair on eBay for £120, paired them with my iFi Zen DAC (also bought after your rec, after having already considered it for a while) and an smsl da9 (using balanced). Sounds sublime & has really made me appreciate speakers for the first time. I think the bottom port really helps when you don't have a ton of placement options. Thank you & keep it real Randy.

i've been using it for a year now i think, I love them. The burn in was necessary! First time when i wired it that wasn't the best, I thought I spent my money badly, but I said my wife, ok, let's go out for some food and other stuffs, and leave it to do his job, 6 hours later a much more clear sound was in the living room. It needed about 24 hour of music to reach the perfect sound. I love your videos, keep pushing!

Randy!!!! I LOVE these D320's. They are truly wonderful. They sold me when I read they use the same drivers as the Diamond 11.2's, which unfortunately, due to my current living situation, are boxed up, for my future living space because they are too big! Enter these bad boys! I was going to purchase the smaller ones, the D310's, which to me, sound like 90 - 95 percent the same and are only $129 right now. The D320's just have a bit more bottom heft and a tad more mid range presence/volume. So I said "F" the fifty bucks! And.....I love them. Powering them off of my newly purchased Emotiva BASX-TA100 that I got for $300 on Black Friday and they are GREAT together (I wonder how much better it would sound if were to add the Emotiva A2 power amp?). The D320's without a sub sound great on their own. I think they are just as you described, "baby 11.2's". Great review, as always, and I'd love to see you review the smaller ones! Happy Holidays!!!!

Okay man I'm really enjoying your videos. I've watched some of your other videos about speakers that costs a lot more than these, but you got me with these. I've just bought them, and they look very very nice. Now I'm using B&W DM302, but unfortunately one tweeter is broken, anyway I hope that these Wharferdale can work well with my NAD3020.

I have the D320's little brothers, the D310's, and find them to be one of the most friendly little speakers I've ever listened to. By "friendly" I mean they are so buttery smooth and inoffensive, that I can't imagine anyone not liking them. The D320's are a GREAT place to start building an awesome little budget system that will bring you lots of joy and happiness. So glad you reviewed these!

I have them paired with a modest (cheap) Polk sub in my den for music and TV and they do just fine. Was fired up about the Linton 85th anniversary speakers, but then they jumped $300 in price, so I'm waiting to see what comes out at that $1000 price range next year for my living room. I want to hear the Polk Reserve R700. They might be on my short list.

I love how your channel focuses on great sound value. I'm amused by the descriptions how how a speaker sounds but I miss the era where sound rooms were everywhere and I could listen to speakers easily. My favorite thing was going into a store, handing the salesperson a CD with my selections and telling him to play the best speakers they sell but don't tell me what was playing, I'd even cover my eyes sometimes. Having no preconceived notions it was surprising sometimes what I picked. I've always tended to like brighter speakers with good transients and sound that closely resembled a live performance with that "edge". Generally within reasonably priced lines (under $3000/pair) I'd pick more expensive speakers but interestingly enough when i went to a real high end shop with 10 and 20 thousand dollar "audiophile" speakers I wasn't impressed. Seemed like most had great midrange but lacked everything else. One really impressive speaker was Acoustat, I think they went out of business but their electrostatics were quite an experience to my young ears at the time, just wow.

Thanks Randy. After coming back and listening to your review again, I definitely agree with what you are saying about the comparison with the Sony speakers. The Sony signature is brighter and more detailed in the treble. The Sony has a hot spot in the midrange that can really over produce, especially some acoustic guitar sounds. That's where the Wharfedale shines in comparison by providing a very smooth sound throughout its range

@@nikolaidisv I am using them as front main speakers (left, right, + powered subwoofer) and am sitting about 12 feet away, and they sound great! These speakers, for me, would be great for near field listening. My ears are very sensitive fatigue from bright speakers. These are very smooth at the top end and warm in the mid-range. They do a nice job of rolling off the top end frequencies, which can sound harsh/shrill, and yet still sound detailed. They are not detail monsters like you'll find with metal tweeters, but they are more than enough for me. What they do well is what makes them keepers. Good luck and ask me any questions. Also, make sure your amp is 4-ohm stable. These are rated at 8 ohms, but they dip below 4, down as low as 3.8 ohms with bass heavy information. I find they sound best with my receiver set to "small" which enables a hi-pass filter, eliminating frequencies below 100 hz, to avoid distortion, and make them play easier. My powered subwoofer takes care of the bottom end.

The D320 is amazing! It comes so very close to the Diamond 12.1 for a lot less money, and that's probably why it's going away, 'cause it was probably killing sales of the much more costly Diamond. They were a real steal at $249, but at $179, I'm not sure they can be bettered. Although the Polk XT20, on sale at $199 will give them a run for their money

For a 5.25" speaker, the bass is pretty shocking. They did take a bit to open up. When I first got them they seemed like they only played a certain range. Mids for me was creamy, yet satisfying just as you said. It does like Yamaha amps better I feel. But those Chinese 6 watt amps, killing it. Nobsound 6P1, very clean and airy for me. I have a crazy story....I bought a pair of the Diamond 240 towers for $550 a few months back, but did not like the midrange driver they used. It was a lower grade driver, i'm sure a cost saving measure. Had a hollow sound. I had a pair of the D320's that I wasn't using so I removed the midbass driver from those and put them into the 240s. I have read all the comments and probably will buy an SMSL or Aiyima A07. I would gladly look at used amps. Your strong opinions are appreciated. The source is a laptop, so an integrated DAC is a plus.

I picked up two pairs of the D320's for just £79 GBP in the UK (Richer Sounds). Could not believe the weight and heft of the cabinets and build quality was way better than expected. Wharfedale really firing on all cylinders these last few years thanks to IAG's ability to mass produce. One thing I noticed is my speakers have foam surrounds whereas it looks like your pair have a rubber surround. I've noticed this before and wonder if they sound different as a result!? I can't complain as speakers this good shouldn't be this cheap! Thanks and great review :-)

How do these compare with the Micca rb42's or the neumi bs5's? I am looking for desktop speaker replacement, so near-field listening. I like the Micca's because of their smaller size and good looks. I think the Nuemi's probably sound the best, but they are a little bit bigger and look just kind of blah. These Wharfedales are bigger yet, but I do like the walnut finish. Nuemi's are the most budget friendly which is a plus and the Wharfedales and micca's are within $20 of each other.

Also, the D310, is about 25 -30% smaller, sounds 90% as as good (mostly a BIT less bass and for the most part sound the same), are only $129. They are like 95 percent as wonderful I think are the better value. I personally went with the D320 with the 5" woofer because there is a bit more bottom heft and a tad warmer in the midrange. They are both truly WONDERFUL speakers and WAY better than the two you mentioned. They use the SAME drivers as the Diamond 11 series. STEAL!!!

Totally different speakers. The JBLs are more lively on the top end and more recessed in the vocals. The Wharfedales are midrange forward, very detailed, super smooth and rolled of top end, not fatiguing, and you can listen to them for hours. I think the JBL is more of a home theatre speaker where the highs and lows are emphasized while the Wharfedale is just more refined and laid back, warm. Needless to say, my ears chose the Wharfedaless. But to be fair, my ears are very sensative to hot/sizzly tweeters. I have the D310, D320, and the Diamond 11.2. Love them all. Very similar sound signature. And when I want to change things up, and listen to something more lively, my Sony SSCS5's go into rotation, which to me are also very detailed and more airy than the Wharfedale offerings, yet not fatiguing at all. I also like the Sony's better than the JBLs. Hope this helps.
