Plascrete Catalyst is the most fun overclocks in the game to me. Definitely one of the top OC’s for it.

@@themarlboromandalorian i believe you mean "induce". but yeah its definitely an overclock that forces a stricter play style rather than just a blanket upgrade.

@@sneakycactus8815 I find it to be more flexible personally. You can still use it in its powerful default manner while having the option of setting up land mines anywhere you need one.

If you keep in mind its improved AoE before the explosion, it makes it much more flexible. No need to go for the explosion as just shooting the platform gives a big damage/AoE boost.

It works in a defensive strategy, the cost it has is that it doesn’t work well in a good few mission types and also it turns your support tool into a sorta ammo type (doesn’t mean no shooting cookies but like I feel like I conserve them a bit.)

I love how in other games something like the Shard Diffractor or Lead Storm would be a super powerful and limited use weapon. Not here at DRG.

Another feature with plascrete catalyst is the width and damage of your beam significantly increases when it's hitting your platform BEFORE it explodes. Just keep moving the beam back and forth on the platform if you don't want the platform to explode right away! And then of course hold it on one spot when you want the explosion. Weird but one of my favorite overclocks...I might friendly fired Ron once on a Haz 5 refinery mission (oopsie)! :)

Bruh I used the Shard Diffractor for the first time the other day in a solo IndSab and holy moly that thing is awesome!! Nothing like popping sniper turrets with heat before they have a chance to fire their first shot.

I remember you doing a diffractor build with plascrete and when i tried it i fell in love, its amazing.

I was wondering when you would cover the plastecrete catalyst. One of my favorite Engi builds uses the thing with your set up. Saved my butt during a recent EDD. The explosion absolutely destroys large groups.

​@@robjsmiles it's very not practical to use, but if you are VERY quick and accurate switching between platform gun and shard defractor, and can be accurate on a moments notice, then it could be very powerful. I just find it takes a lot of planning to set up, and requires faster reflexes than most players have (at least on console) Also the friendly/self fire damage is kind of insane on the explosion 😅

I’m late to the party, but plastcrete catalyst is my go-to in holdout missions(MULE salvage, liquid morkite extraction, escort missions, etc). Since you likely are preparing your environment beforehand anyways, you can blast some platforms in predicted enemy paths and use them as cheaper sticky bombs when the enemies finally arrive. Being able to blow holes in Oppressors made me appreciate plastcrete catalyst a lot more.

I really enjoy the mini gun, but like the engineer as a class more overall. The shard diffractor was just amazing for me.

Gunner is my favorite class tbh. Engie brings a lot of utility amd is really fun but I think he just can't quite beat the DAKA

The only flaw it has is; that it isn't RJ250

Does the AOE upgrade on volatile impact reactor OC impact the size or affect of the magma trail at all? Or is it only AOE on direct hits/close terrain hits? I've always been using the weak spot damage bonus on it because I assumed the AOE would have no effect on the magma trail. Is this wrong? Because if it creates a larger magma trail, I will definitely want that instead

I think it adds to it by a little bit but not that much. Both options are pretty good though.

Im curious if theres a way to use neuro lasso without gimping your damge toooooo much. Have had fun working with a driller to keep them on aoe but outside of that its kinda "meh" as an OC.

Spinning Death on the Breach Cutter, use Plasma Trail in tier 5 for extra damage Maybe use a proxy mine on the same area if needed Neuro Lasso to slow down enemies caught on the Laser Beyblade of Death, increasing time spent on the damaging area There is a video called "neuro lasso gaming" which demonstrates this strat on practice, if I remember the name correctly. @@themarlboromandalorian Late to reply but will anyways. Tried spinning death (with plasma trail) along with a driller friend and a scout using cryo bolts and those new boomerangs. Worked REALLY well. Ty for the suggestion. Rock and stone!

I use neuro lasso in combination with volatile impact reactor shard defractor, and it worked great for me. Any time you see a group of any size (even small groups) you lay down a magma trail in the bugs' path, and then switch back to the smart rifle with Neuro lasso. Not only will the slowdown keep the bugs in the magma trail longer, dealing more damage, but it will cause them to burn in place, either outright killing them or chunking their health significantly. You can either let the bugs burn, or let loose with your smart rifle, with electrochemical rounds and electric generator. Since all bugs will be burning (and electrified if you have 3 locks), you will do huge amounts of damage to already weakened bugs. It's very powerful and feels great. I take more locks and wider lock on angle to slow down as many bugs in front of me as possible. I also use the 33% more damage against electrified enemies on the shard defractor, because you can quickly electrify a large target with the smart rifle, and then melt them with direct fire from the shard defractor......from any range. Elite threats become quite a joke with this, and you aren't sacrificing really anything to do it. I also feel like Neuro lasso is typically pretty "meh" considering why would you want to slow bugs when you could just kill them instead? Now you have a reason to slow them, because you want them to burn longer and stay in the trail longer. It's very ammo efficient, and allows you to kill anything at any range. Especially if you run weak spot damage on the shard defractor. The only main weakness of this build I have found is that if bugs appear out of nowhere, when you weren't prepared for them, it's not the best for stopping them. But Neuro lasso lok1 can kind of help you there by slowing every threat down. Plus you have your choice of grenades, power attack, turrets, dash, and teammates to help you. (Really my favorite part of this though, is you don't have to be accurate at all. It's quite easy for anyone to do, of any skill level once you get the VERY basic rythem)

For this one its absolutely true. I use Volatile Impact Reactor the most because, as he says, its essentially a long range sticky flames. I pair it with a max target Lok-1 to give a closer range AOE

I'm not fully sure, but it is something from White Bat Audio here on youtube.

Overdrive with 21111 Mod combo can 1-burst a Nemesis.

Automated beam controller is my go to OC for it. You'd think mag dumping on every shot would be inefficient but if you pick your moments (large crowd/tanky enemy) its so ammo efficient its ridiculous. I like running it with no magazine size (charge?) upgrades as I find the burst damage is so good it's not really needed but I play haz 4 so can't speak for haz 5. I tried overdrive booster and it felt like the damage buff wasn't worth the movement penalty as often a dread would turn and block its weak point and I'd lose my crit bonus
