There are some similarities with Korean grammar. Korean too has the same word order, Subject-object-verb. About from, to and in, Korean also put eseo(from), ro(to) and ane(in) at the end. Both Basque and Korean are isolated languages in the same continent (ie. connected by land), one in the west and the other in the east. Interesting!!!
It is great that such an ancient language has survived! The fact that there are native Basque speakers nowadays is like if there were native Etruscan speakers in Italy, my country! Long live your old, beautiful Euskara language!
I'm a first generation American of very strong Basque origin. I speak Castellano, Galego and English fluently and my ama and I are trying to learn Euskera together. She was born in Madrid and her parents were from the countryside but grew up during the dictatorship, so the language was lost in my family. We're trying to get it back❤
Awesome video.
I love learning languages and I also love learning about linguistics in general. And when I do my research I find it so sad how there are so many stories about different languages being oppressed and then them slowly dying out.
My thought process almost shut down when I've heard the Basque language for the first time lol. Been interested with this language ever since

I learned that my great grandparents are Basque. Sadly, my grandparents lost their cultural heritage due to growing up in the American southwest. They embraced Mexican culture to fit in.
