I used to call it a lower back pain or buttock pain. I knew also about bursitis. Now I learned the new correct name of my problem is "sit bone pain". I have been having it for a few years. My remedy is only rest, walking, sitting on good cushioned chair, less use of hard chair, avoiding long time sitting, changing posture in about every half hour, rest with lying on soft bed, no use of any medicine, drinking normal and cold water help me a lot . I am fit for almost all activities commensurate with my age. Thanks for giving me additional knowledge.
This is such a great topic as so many people are now sitting down for work and are experiencing these issues. Many thanks Dr. Furlan!

Can you explain sacral pain as well? Thank you!
Thank you for the information on sit bone pain. Developed it in my car, probably related to race car style seat. Ended up getting a styrofoam cushion that helped some. In the end I got rid of the car.

@@DrAndreaFurlan yes madam i am ok ...now ....thank you for your concerns ..sorry i have missed ...
Thank you Dr. Furlan. Always good ideas. I have pain on right side, that is worse when driving especially long trips. Many years ago I fell on the ice and bruised my bottom on that side. Could this injury be related? I do walk as much as possible to keep fit and stretch. I will try some more hamstring stretches.

Hi Debra, I hope you get better soon
I am from Germany and I have chronic Face Pain (Tooth Pain) and Trauma from Childhood. I know now alot about the Pain itself but I need the exact steps and exercises I should do. Can you help me?
Very interesting. My daughter has just had a baby and has serious pain in her tail bone. The doctors didn't seem very concerned but they don't have the pain. I was wondering will this go away on its own and hiw common is it and the best self treatments Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear that
Quads extend knee and hamstrings flex knee. I dont understand the part you explained that hamstrings extend knee while they “bend the knee backwards”. Do I misunderstand what you meant?
I have taken injection for ichial bursitis but i got only 60 percent how to heal 100 percent
