I say “IRT” but it really should be E art for reasons delineated above.. I have a question for you. I recently got my 610 and I’m not in love with the tuners. I’m wondering if Grover locking tuners would work? They’re my favorite. Should I go with staggered poles? And lastly I’ve got pretty advanced arthritis so using nines and tens is out of the question for me. I bought some sets of seven’s and eights and wonder if I’ll have to redo my internation when I put these new strings on? I presume I will and I’m just hoping that I won’t run into issues with the nut. I’ll lube it liberally. Please respond. BTW, it was your review that convinced me to buy this guitar. (My lesser Les Paul) I’m up to 11 guitars now and still don’t play well enough to play for anyone (if I had an enemy, I’d probably play for him as a means of torture!)
One thing I like is that it has telecaster-style controls, meaning one tone, and one volume, and the pickup selector is where it belongs. This is a Les Paul type guitar designed to appeal to those of us used to playing fender-style guitars.

Okay, I see...
Any issues with the "E" strings rolling off the fretboard while playing? Like, if you're adding a little vibrato to a lead run on the high E.
Yep, EART guitars are pretty nice for the price tag and it is highly likely you won't ever get scratchy fret ends in them because they machine polish the frets ends before putting them on the fretboard. Also they do use stainless steel frets in most of their guitars.
Sounded nice. I don’t know why more people don’t use SS frets, especially for what I paid for my Martins.
How did you find the rise on the frets ? I have the Eart tele, and although the frets look good, some of them are so flat that they don't follow the radius of the fretboard. (so they are slightly raised on both ends)
Thought I was hearing fret buzz in the early clean tones. I would worry about pulling the high E off the end of the fret, they don’t appear to go to the edges of the neck.
Seems like a great instrument at a great price. I wish they had guitars like this when I started playing. BTW Landon, I hope that you will do a review on the Harley Benton 25th Anniversary TE-25th. HB has really kicked it up a notch for this anniversary series.
Always wanted an LP with just one vol and one tone knob.
sounds great! and love the metal tone/volume knobs
Stainless steel frets and roasted okume? Is the neck one piece or a scarf joint? (I prefer the scarf joint)
on the dirty tones where you were playing rush, what pedal were you using? 5:03

If it is for quiet practice I use a Zoom G1 four ,with headphones and it has a line in for backing tracks
I really like it. Love the natural satin finish. Reminds me of the vintage Les Paul studios that came out in the 90's. The pickups sound a bit muddy, but had a full range, so its an OK guitar., probably good for the price range. Wonder how it stacks up against Grote, Cort or Harley Benton. Definate upgrade from Epiphone though. What's the price range?
I really like the design of this guitar from the slimmer than LP body, the mahogany toned okume tonewood for the body and (a ROASTED) neck, slim taper, stainless frets and compound radius to the more reliable and quieter blade switch to the two knob arrangement. This guitar is well thought out.🎸 Great Video🎸
I wonder if a switchcraft switch would work?
Satin Finish like on my Schecter Omen , Headstock like my Carvin CTH Neck both with Stainless Steel Frets, which you just can not beat for guitar necks that are not bolt on or set in types that are replaceable. Fretwork gets Expensive, so I use to put Carvin/Keisel Necks on my Peavey T60's, Strats and Teles and some other Logo's as Replacements or Upgrades. My Carvin/Keisel Necks can get Expensive, depending on options and I usually make most all my guitars Play Easier by turning the necks into a Satin Backed Neck Finish. I'm a Music Gear Experimentalist, always modifying Tone, Playability. I Try to keep a guitar able to go back to Stock OEM for Resale & Collector Value. I use the Stew Mac 5 to 10 Option Slider Type Pickup Switch. I Love a Wide 1.70mm NUT and Straight String Pull , even on an Acoustic Electric Guitar. I really like the EAR(T) Satin but not the thinner 1.625mm NUT, but that's why I use Capo's and Alternate Tunings. I can always get a T Logo Sticker and apply it to the Headstock next to the EAR Logo to level out my own thoughts (Spell Checker Correction) when I look at the non-ending Logo, it's like a Trip N The RIFF that has No Resolve . . . GR8T VIDEO L B FretBro . . . 👍😎🎸🤘☺️🇺🇸🙏 DDH 5-11-2023.

That satinized finish and lack of frills really make you want to pick it up and play it. Nice Ear guitar.
I had the blue satin one and I did a AB with my Gibson Les Paul that had 57 Classics....dude they sounded nearly identical. Those pups are literally 57 Classic clones and they have a "57 Classic" sticker on the back, or something close to that I forget. I actually thought about putting the Eart pups in my Gibson SG to replace the 490s.
I round fret ends , and fret board edges on any Epi I get my hands on and wish to play If needed , a bit of height filing with a Nicholson #4 Night & Day

@@juliankirby9880 I understand what you are saying but logically it is a bad assumption. You assume noise must be in the pickup when the guitar is a system . If I was trouble shooting this problem I beat this dead horse of pickups I wouldn’t conclude it must be the pickups, I would look for ground loops, bad solder joints, faulty switching , proper grounding….etc. You have to understand the system, do a simple fault analysis and run a design of experiments ( just means to address your findings). What will you do when you buy$250 pickups and the problem still exists?
@juliankirby9880

@@bluwng I grow plants. I don't do electronics or understand them to the level you do. It isn't so much I assume its the pickup, its that I think that to eliminate outside influence on the system we have to shield it, and the 1st part of the circuit is the pickup therefore shielding the cavity and waxing the pickups are the 1st steps to finding the problem, if we shield the wiring cavity, we remove the EMF from our environment from affecting the electronics as much, it could even solve the problem w/o having to buy any new parts or do any additional soldering! once everything is shielded, and the pickups are waxed, problem solving can begin. I don't think anyone should spend money on pickups if they don't have to. We can do those simple shielding techniques ourselves, I wish I had known how easy waxing pickups was back when I was 18, I wouldn't have decided to buy new pickups. If someone is uncomfortable waxing pickups, there are affordable waxed pickups. My dad got me a guitar when I was learning that was damaged at the warehouse(some , and it had half the wax knocked out the pickups. the electronics were and are still great. I looked for people selling INF sets(stock ibanez) but couldn't find any, so I ended up spending about 200 on 3 pickups and the install. but, I now have a non signature Satriani RG lol I only knew the pickups were messed up because I figured shielding the cavities would fix the problem, and I went to do it. To answer your question, If those pickups had not worked to fix the screeching feedback problem in the Ibanez, 18 year old me would have said to the tech at the guitar store "please fix this, I have money" today me would be like " well, GFS has wiring harnesses for 20-30 bucks, and people actually sell used parts from stock guitars all the time now, lets see what I need"
I heard they wanted to name the company "Earth" Guitars, but could not for some reason (name was taken - copyright issue). So it would be pronounced like earth without the "T". I have the GW2 Pro headless - frets and neck are really nice but the bridge and locking at the nut are only so-so. Pickups are muddy, but some EQ fixes it nicely. Boost around 2.5K and cut around 100 or so. Also added a push-pull switch for single coil action.
I'm not sure if it's worth the price difference from the DLP124 or not. It is pretty though. I love the look of the body.

Surprised they didn’t split the coils and include a 5 way switch seeing as they’re going with a blade switch. Saying that that makes a pretty easy mod for anyone wanting to do that.
Great video fella. This model is very similar to the Cort Zennox Z42, of which I have 2 of as I’m left handed, and the one thing I like about the Eart is that like the Corts, they are very comfortable to play, plus they won’t cripple your shoulder unlike a Les Paul.

Does the coils split on that. Man if you don't slow down on aquireing guitars you are going to have to build a second wing on that house. That might not be a bad thing though.

I agree...i have learned to do fretwork only to put stainless steel frets on all my guitars(including bullets and affinities) so getting them from the factory well dressed and polished is a sick deal at these prices....a pickup set its as easy as breathing to replace but the details is where the quality lies....what fender or gibson model can you get where you get a board, compound radiused, fretted with stainless steel frets and a bone nut all perfect and ready to go....either you wont get it at all or you get it at outrageous prices.....

Yeah, really nasty. I couldn't get past that.
Not everything is flowers with Eart, I just bought a pre owned Explorer 1 and the previous owner hadn't realized that the guitar had the truss rod stuck, not moving the arm. I negotiated a discount on the value of the instrument in order to replacement of a new one truss rod and refret. The fretwork it’s not The Holy Grail as other reviewers talk about here on KZread, the frets ends up before the fingerboard and this causes the strings to slip off the neck. In addition, Eart makes a very aggressive fret grinding at the end of the fingerboard, which leaves the frets with a profile that is too low. My tip is to buy Eart guitars prepared for the shit that can happen and if you are not prepared, you can have a big headache. Eart's quality control is still very flawed, especially on the fretwork and they use a very poor quality truss rod, very fragile.

Those wifi windshields have to be the goofiest fret inlays I’ve seen. They can’t do just dots or something? Those alone make it a no buy for me. Just strange enough to be like nahhh.
I'll take my $115 (before shipping) Harley Benton SC-400. It certainly looks like a real Les Paul, and its contoured neck joint feels really good compared to the standard Les Paul heel joint. The neck is also that perfect (for me) 60's slim taper profile. Single volume and tone controls are a big drawback. Each pickup should have its own separate tone and volume controls. This makes changing between tone and volume as simple as flicking the toggle switch. Much faster then changing pickups and then having to readjust the volume and tone. FTR, I own REAL Gibson Les Pauls, so it's easy for me to compare the HB to the Gibson. A Harley Benton can't measure up to a real Gibson, but it doesn't cost $2000, it's fun to play, and if you scratch it, who cares?
Doubt that.
Looks nice. Love the color and finish. Thought it sounded good to. Would love to hear it plugged straight into a small tube amp with no effects, cranked up till it starts to break up. That's how I test every guitar that I buy. It's gotta sound good raw and unfiltered.
Judging from the comments about this particular guitar, I was under the impression that it was relatively inexpensive. Although, after I looked it up, I wouldn’t exactly consider it pricey, it didn’t strike me as the bargain I was expecting it to be. I mean, that price is nearing PRS territory and, frankly, I bought my Les Paul for quite a bit less… and it’s an ACTUAL Les Paul. I think I’ll pass for now. Maybe I’ll regret that decision later, but I just think there are better deals out there. Good video, though.

@@landonbailey OK. Ive paused the video, and I now see that it is a byproduct of the fairly chunky fret board edge round over that necessitates this fret style. again another feature im not a fan of. but thanks for the reply ! it is a good looking guitar , the pickups sound like low end Epiphones, the cap value/pot value are such that Ear(t) have tried to keep a decent level of control with minimal input, but have sucseeded in pushing already muddy pickups into more muddy territory, and a real weird midrange honk that is usually a sign of a big change in impedance on a passive system like a guitar.
Pickups sounded muffled, especially at the neck. Even though one can change them I don’t think spending another $300 on pickups is worth it
