Not only is this a great product demo, this video may possibly be the best overview of car audio ever done. In just under 19 minutes you explained basically everything anyone would ever need to know in regards to setting up a car audio system. Well done!

As someone with some mid range hearing loss in one ear, the individual parametric EQ is gonna be a blessing. I’m literally gonna be able to boost the frequency’s my hearing test showed I’m lacking on that side.

I've selected a Teyes CC3 headunit for my build because of the features it provides (optical & coaxial output, Bluetooth accessory control, amazing 360 camera system, full play store/apps) But I will say that the new Alpine Halo radios are the next closest contender I would consider. Had they been available when I made my purchase I would have probably bought one instead! Luckily I still have great HI Res playback though I am doing so by playing a Fiio DAP connected directly to my DSP via Coaxial connection and controlling the DAP from my radio screen/steering controls using the Fiio Bluetooth Link app. It's great that the Alpine has HiRes capabilities. Also the dash cam connectivity and on screen ADAS warnings. What a great unit, Alpine!

Most of these audio features are not new. Advanced eq's are nice but have been around for a long while. Its all DSP processing so not groundbreaking. Its been around for a while. The big difference is connectivity and support for modern applications. So tidal, wireless apple carplay and android auto. I think the newer screen is also better because its a bonded screen which are better with dealing with reflections.

The resolution in the screen is the best now 1280~720p.

Just put a 507A in my wifes car. Currently having minor issues with the factory amplified system(not Alpines problem, it's the canbus and integration harness doing something odd) but I'm definitely able to see the improvements over my old ILX-702D and the ILX-F309E. Android Auto is definitely better(especially wireless) with less odd behaviour like wild volume swings between music and Google responses the old units had. The main screen with fast access to tuning and the voltage gauge are great too. I wish you'd include the RCA camera adaptor though, most factory cameras or retention harnesses then end up needing this. You include harnesses for stuff people will RARELY use, but not this. It's only a cheap part, but was an hour trip for me to pick one up. Also setting the 'rear' camera as a default backup camera will save people wondering why their reverse camera doesn't work for 5 minutes haha.

Nice unit !what im sold on is the camera. Both front & rear capabilities which is a good thing forbid the unthinkable should happen. You would have the proof needed . Plus it’s a great safety feature. I’ve owned Alpine head units in the past. They never disappoint 😊

Hello, I am very interested in the tidal feature. If I understand correctly, there must be a WLAN connection between the radio and the smartphone for this to work? I was just wondering if you could tell me: if I'm travelling around the country in my new 2022 Transporter 6.1 VW Camper-van in Australia. If I loose internet connection what happens with all the features that require internet and what happens on the head unit. Q2. If music was playing and a car fault comes up, and system warning alarms, does the music stop playing, like with a incoming phone call. Q3 If I was to install outside Alpine rear camera on the rear roof area of the back tailgate (due to using a bike rack on to the tow bar) the exciting VW rear Camera with any view been block). if an extra rear outside Alpine Camera was installed would I be able to connect the 2 (two) rear Cameras to the head unit and flick between the two on the head unit so, when the bike rack is not connected to the to the van I could go between the two cameras. And if you're driving along are you able to activate just the Alpine rear camera or are they both connected to the cars reversing system? Sorry for so many questions.

Can you add a variable R-L, L-R (basically like a haffler network, or differential phase) to the rear speaker/pre out eq settings in a firmware update for the ilx-705d? Pretty please. It’s a really nice way of making your rear fill less obtrusive as it cancels out anything centred in the stereo field the more you add inverted phase signal from the opposite sides signal.

How do these integrate with a DSP as far as time correction and the like will one canceled out the other 🤔

After running for almost 8 years a Clarion NX605, I would like to have the iLX-507. The problem I may encounter is their ACTIVE CROSSOVERS conflicting badly with my tuned CUSTOM THREE WAY SYSTEM that has PASSIVE CROSOVERS in each speaker. I don't understand why Alpine doesn't offer the option to disable it or to turn it off. Now, the only way is to FLAT the slope and raise up dB the most it can go. That way the filters will be wide open allowing full signals pass through so my PASSIVE CROSOVERS will take over.

My question is before I buy this. How good is the device cooling. Like he mentioned dashes are alot more compact these days. Right now I have a kenwood double din and at times the music sounds great then all of a sudden it loses sound clarity and I think it might be because the unit isnt getting enough airflow to properly cool unit

The delay timing thing .. can that be used to fix the delay on Bluetooth audio ? You know when you’re watching a video with a Bluetooth speaker the sound is delayed almost a whole second

I've had the 9-inch system installed in my new car. However, its a bummer that Whatsapp/Telegram notifications do not show a preview of the message in Apple Carplay mode - it uses Siri to read out the messages. Is there a work around this?

I drive a 2017 Jeep wrangler so I have the X209D. My alpine radio did a big update about a year ago where the iOS looks totally different. Anyways big upgrade very nice, however some of my Carr functions aren’t working it says “OBD2 :error 1 disconnected”. What’s a quick fix for this and how can I make sure my radio is at its current update?

I have the ilx f511. Im running 2 amps a monoblock for bass and a 4 channel. Do I need a hi res amp to get hi res through the amp I use tidal and it says it’s playing hi res but I’m not sure I’m actually playing hi res since I’m using a cheap d4s amp. Should I upgrade my amp?

Looking to install this unit in my 2014 ram 3500 Laramie that came with a 8.4 Uconnect unit. Unit is failing… Having a hard time finding the correct installation kit. I don’t want to replace my HVAC controls. Do you have a link for a kit that would work for me?

@AlpineTV - I want to update my headunit, but the instructions aren't clear on whether the "Clear All Settings" step is required. I'd rather *not* overwrite all my presets and Smart Sound settings on the EQ, etc. Is this step required or can I simply perform the update without resetting the configured settings.

Tech support emailed me - this update does clear all settings and the only way to retain them is to take pictures and reapply them after the update. I will not be performing this update to enable Tidal.

Our specs say that the 509 will playback 192kHz flac/WAV and 96kHz Apple hi res, but you say the unit plays back at 96. Did you mean that it down mixes 192 to 96, or were you only talking about Apple specs? And can you run AAuto for navigation while running Tidal on the head unit as your sound source?

Will the camera option work on the ILX-309?

With people installing iPads and tablets in the dash why didn’t alpine take the opportunity to put a higher quality screen on it. I mean people buy it for the screen. Glad you made it HD radio though. Good choice.

It will be nice if Alpine can add USB and AUX more functionality-compatibility strength because the iLX-507 does not play CD. After finding a needle in the sand, my iLX-507 did play WAV files. My flash drive is formatted to exFAT. My WAV files are set to 1411 Kbps (16 Bits), I think it can go up to editor grade 2116 Kbps (24 Bits). I don't want to mention Hi-Res wireless because it will need 1411 Kbps to become lossless. Only in theory, LDAC and LHDC can go up to 990 Kbps and 1600 Kbps respectively. In real life once congestion increases, it will drop down to 660 Kbps or most of the time to under 330 Kbps.

Do you have a steering control interface for iLX-F509

A few questions: 1) can we connect wires android to one USB and a music USB to other? 2) can we add front and back drive assist cameras AND front and back dashcams? 3) are these features available in 507? Or do we need to go to 509? 4) I have a no JBL 2013 sienna XLE. There are some speaker screens on the dash apart from the doors. I am not sure if there are any speakers in there. If there are, how does it support them?

Can go with your installer dealer and ask, for different models have maestro RR, this tool have gauges for specific cars and models, I have two radios iLXF509 just one work whit dash cam alpine DVR-C320R and I have the control of this camera from the radio screen.

I just got the Halo 11 installed and the settings on the actual stereo is not available also the Sirius Xm says it is not compatible.

Any chance of making this available for a 2019 RAM 2500 Gen5 soon?

Does the HALO cross individual speakers? You're only showing front/rear/sub while you have subs, bass, mids, & tweeter speakers .

Eric, Out of the box question that I haven't been able to find anywhere. What speaker channel(s) does the caller's voice play out of, All, Front, or just driver's front? My reason for asking. I want to use the DSP of the 509 only. I would do this by configuring the front channels as a HPF for tweeters, and the rear band pass for woofers. The car is a roadster, so I don't need rear speakers. What I don't want is to do this just to find out that the callers voice is only coming out a channel that I set up as a tweeter. So, can you please help me out with this?

Anyone know how to lower the subwoofer volume on a Alpine ilx-507? Nothing I do lowers the su s outputs.

i have a very important question. Does it lower the bass when you turn the volume up? and also when you turn the sub up, does it do that thing where all the mid and high freqs are turned down? all the systems specially the factory one and the all in ones like this do this thing. Its like side chaining in music production. The only solution that works is a 100% totally flat signal from the player, or even with the sub bass freqs turned down a bit, and then later in the system you turn the bass up from separate sub amplifier. This is for everyday simpler systems. but u need two amps, sub has to be totally separate. so the headunit deosnt even know how much bass is turned up. Also i would like to know how much power this unit can handle per channel. including sub. And also i think it has 3 pre outs, not sure, but if it did and u add an amplifier to it, then we cant use the inbuilt dsp right, because only 3 pre outs. Yes if we use speaker level inputs on an amplifier then we can individually tune the system . how many total speaker level outs this unit has? sorry for long comment. thanks

I haven't noticed any dynamic EQ like bass dropping as volume goes up. The factory amped system in the car it's installed in seems to clip earlier now because of that though haha

Head unit needs to see parking brake signal. Or ground the parking brake wire to a toggle switch

You’re saying iPhone connected to these units with a USB, playing through CarPlay isn’t sending the hi-res music through the head unit?

I've just installed a 705D in my Forester and for love or money, I cannot get the steering wheel controls to work. CONNECTS2 canbus for Subaru and a generic model were tested and no reponse from any button. There is also no cable for dimming the display at night, but it rather relies on a sensor. I also find the touch screen is not very sensitive and has frozen more than once on the EQ or Crossover settings. Does this deck keep all the settings in memory when you change or disconnect the battery ? I really hope so. Personally I'm a bit disappointed for what you get for your money. .

Just a quick question, if I use TIDAL via Carplay or Android Auto can I get a high resolution audio? Or do I need to use the integrated software that comes with the radio?

Technically using Tidal through CarPlay isn’t Hi-Res. It sounds great on these units but for Hi-Res your best bet it to use the Tidal source on the head unit. Hope this helps.

go with the dealer and ask for the maestro RR module maybe have this options, depending year, model and brand of the car.

Iam having trouble with my ilx 507 1 speakers pop when I turn my vehicle on 2. It's never in sync with the music on the screen and disconnects 3 when using navigation or taking a phone call it only comes out of my front channels wich is my tweeters please help its my 1st alpine I don't want to return it

just did the latest firmware update A.22.00 and now where it lets you adjust bass and treble up and down, it will not let me go up with the treble. Only down......also my LPF on front and rear speakers will not let me change either

Big problem with the tidal app on the head unit. You can’t type in a particular artist or song you want to listen too. So I just use the wireless or wired to listen to tidal. Fix that please!!

The RUE-BK01 is an Alpine Europe product so you will need to reach out to them for support on that knob specifically.

Hi, so how would I set the time corrections for me and a passenger? Should I use the center between me and the passenger as the sweet spot and meassure from there?

How do you turn the crossovers off on the radio?

Is Alpine looking to update this unit so it will be compatible with the accessory controller? It would be awesome if we can turn on accessories such as lights with this head unit.

These units will be updated regularly with new features yes. That being said we don't have specific plans as of right now for the accesory controller function.

I have a 2017 highlander platinum I just got Alpine f511 installed, when I call another person they hear an eco I have tried everything even replace the unit to another new one by alpine factory recommendation but the problem continues until now. Any suggestions?

I have an ine-w977a & I want to update my headunit so I can get wireless Android Auto, however these newer headunits mean I will lose the navi features as well as other features. I don't live in the US so I can't even get the navi stick. I'm disappointed that newer headunits have less features & benefits than the older headunits & aren't a true update/upgrade.

If you use RUX H02, is it possible to use Wireless CarPlay?
