First thing to do, I prefer to search all islands in maximum mode, and then autosupply all islands. The rest of the stands I place following your thought process. I'd like to know the key combination you use to reposition the supports, because I only use the space bar

BIG safety concern! Use Nitril Gloves. A Respirator is mandatory as you said! And never resin print inside your house without an air exchange system. It will ruin your health! Also not on Air purifiers: They only filter out the Smell! The Air is still just as toxic as before.

Thanks for your comment! :) VOCs from 3D printer resin can actually be neutralized pretty well by activated carbon, so if you have the right air filter, it can definitely help! Good ventilation is always a good idea, though, even with a filter.

@@blitzgamingstudios that is false information. It can NOT be neutralized by those filters

so I'm new to resin printing. so new I haven't even set my printer up yet. but I was wondering, if a model is solid does the center ever cure if it's a solid color? I imagine a transparent or semitransparent model could cure the inside as the UV rays could pass through. sorry for the noob question.

It's a great question! If the model is not hollowed, the 3D printer's UV screen cures the entire layer, every layer. That includes the "inside" if the model. So if you printed a big solid block that is not hollow, you'd have a big solid block that is cured all the way through. If it was set to hollow in Lychee (or another slicer), the inside would not cure based on how hollow you set it. In this case you want to add a hole so liquid resin doesn't get trapped inside. Even then, it still can be hard to cure resin inside a hollowed model, so some people use tiny little UV lights that can go inside the model. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions 👍 and good luck with your printer, it's a lot of fun!

Great video. THANK you , So helpfull , I am still struggling with proper supports. I am afraid of putting supports due to the huge holes they leave on my print. So.. I tend to not support enough and I have many faild prints.. I am lucky to have 1 out of 5 prints NOT fail. I HATE the huge holes the supports leave.. sometimes huge craters .. so ..its a 10% chance out of 10 prints I print only ONE will come out ok without failing. or just put up with huge holes :( so.. I get frustrated and havnt printed anythying in the past 4 months..

What slicer are you using? Is it Lychee? You can make the support connection smaller so that it doesn't leave such a big hole! I usually do .3 millimeter connections in most areas

Nice work! But that's alot of extra work. Seems this is something the slicer should be able to do perfect, with fdm printing Bambu labs slicer seems to handle support pretty well. Nothing else with resin that can do this for us well?

I've been thinking of redoing this tutorial (since it's so long) to show how to use the "fast" way more effectively. I've tried a few different slicers but Lychee is the best I have seen so far for resin 🤷‍♂️

@@blitzgamingstudiosappreciate the time you took to do this. Just starting with resin, so this is a big help. Will definitely give Lychee a try, thank you!!

If you use the “project supports” feature you can knock this out in like 2 minutes.

This is called Lychee Slicer! I've tried lots of slicers but this is my favorite. And it's free! The main website is mango3d.io

The free version is garbage and makes you watch ads and doesn’t do rafts or many basic features. It is NOT FREE to get the program you’re seeing in this video

Um lychee isnt trash, the free version is fine ive been using it for over 9 months and it is way better than what else os out their. Ya to get a few extra features you have to pay, just like everything in this world, since its free you have to watch ads , because the guys at lychee have to get paid some how, lol. Garddamn you gen z kids bitch and cry about EVERYTHING . You need to relax man with the negative crap. @thorkanning

Question. So when I'm adding my supports I tend to just use light on just about everything > I 3d 1/35th scale military stuff< the tip at .10, now is that to small , cause I do have a lot more failures than successful prints, but when I do succeed 3d printing those .10 tips have not failed. I d k man I need all the help I can get. I got in to 3d printing because it's cheaper than buying resin parts and or photoetch upgrade sets. Thank you for the video, you got a new sub.

Hey @rickmoreno6858 It sounds like you are using an FDM printer if your talking about using tips. (By FDM I mean it extruded filament one layer at a time to 3D print.) If so, you might need to find a different video if these supports aren't working. This video was more so for resin printing. Otherwise, the thing with using only light supports is that they wobble and break easier, but they're easier to remove. They also don't hold the model in place as well as needed. I like to use some mediums in the places that seem to need the most support or where the most weight would be, and then add lights everywhere else. That way it holds things in place, and the light supports make sure the details are supported. Hope that helps! (You CAN use these types of supports for FDM printing, you just would want to increase the tip size of the supports, and maybe the thickness of the supports.)
