Thank you for this! You confirmed that I could use a wood putty / water combo to fill in the mini gaps I get on my 1:16 models.

drywall filler works great in a pinch for filling in smaller imperfections
Some great advice there, this was just the kind of cravis - crack - join filler I was looking for.

A great channel for learning painting and how to print The only thing I would do different when you cut in Meshmixer Make pegs for the parts,so they can attach to the part you cut off
@TheCreativeCollector
5 ай бұрын
I would but they don't always line up right due to expansion and contraction.
Apoxie Sculpt can also be smoothed with water... but they also sell Apoxie Safety Solvent - and it's amazing to use to smooth out your Apoxie Sculpt finish or to thin it down. I use it for all my bigger gaps and fills. Also saves you some sanding.

I’m new to resin but I have and extensive background in fdm, I use a program called Luban and it cuts and keys each half of the model!

Not as much as I thought I would have. It took about 4000 grams
Another awesome video! Question for you: what's the best method you've found to fill support divits? Also what grade of sand paper do you use with the G-tool?
@TheCreativeCollector
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! So I usually don't have huge divets from supports so I sand them down. If I do I use Tamiya spot putty. The Gtool comes with a couple of sheets of fine grain pads so I use those. That thing also helps big time with divets.
I just printed spider women and the leg has a huge gap thanks to this video I know what to look for now
What tools will I need to shape the putty that I used to fill gaps?
@TheCreativeCollector

Just some basic sculpting tools. Nothing special.
Will you feature this model when done? It will be most interesting to see the seams after it's finished.

Have you done a video painting this model
@TheCreativeCollector

Yes I have! Should be in there.
How do u not get the support hole when removing them
@TheCreativeCollector
Жыл бұрын
Most likely you'll always get some sort of divet hole from a support unless you sit and clip every single support off, which can take forever to do.
Where do you get all these amazing minis? I just got a resin printer and I've been looking to print some gifts for my friends, who're big Marvel fans
@TheCreativeCollector
Жыл бұрын
Well they're not minis, but most of mine come from Wicked 3D and they make one piece files so you make them into minis if you want. If you check out their FB page you'll see a lot of people have done that for MCP games.
What is the best glue for 3d prints?

@@TheCreativeCollector cool...I'm starting with FDM as a beginner...hopefully mo e up to resins. question, why do some of the links have lines thru them?

Im not sure. Maybe I need to update the links? I plan on doing that anyways.
Seems I'll be using a lot MeshMixer, cuz there are some huge bases that even on 1/6 scale, don't fit on my Saturn S. But how do you join all the pieces, with super glue?
@TheCreativeCollector

I use a 2 part epoxy. It's a lot stronger than super glue and will hold up better over time

@@TheCreativeCollector Idk why I thought the 2 part epoxy was dangerous. When I saw you used it without gloves I was like 🤯. Thanks!
@TheCreativeCollector

Oh you're thinking of something else. APOXY is the sculpting stuff I use to fill in the seams. EPOXY is a glue I use to connect the base together. EPOXY isnt something to use with your hands. lol APOXY is ok to handle. Hope that helps.

is there any particular reason you didd't add keys for your base? Also, just an FYI, Amazon says the G-Tool is currently unavailable. not sure if its a temporary thing or not.

I hot the early version of the model and it only had the one key in the foot. And yes the gtool is gone. They've discontinued it. I believe they're making a newer one.
What's the final cost for a monster like this? Between the print file, resin, paint, etc
@TheCreativeCollector

Oh man. That's a tough one. The file was $30 I think. I used 9 bottles of resin at $28 each. Not sure about paint yet because I'm not finished
WHere did you get the Hawkeye model?
@TheCreativeCollector
Жыл бұрын
It came from Wicked3D. They're making the whole Avengers team from the first movie. I'm printing them all in 1/4 scale
How do you find the right scale from 1/6 to 1/4 ?
@TheCreativeCollector
Жыл бұрын
It depends if the model is already 1/6 scale ,then 50% increase is 1/4. But you would need to see what the original file is scaled.
