Blake: You understand the application of color theory to Photoshop better than any one on KZread, and you explain it better too. This is coming from a guy whose perception of color could be better. Thanks.

Thanks so much, Peter, I really do appreciate it. It means a lot to me.
Thank you Blake, you're the first person to give me hope. I'm red/green color blind. I've tried Enchroma glasses with no luck. Your color wheel illustration made me realize I may be able to develop a way to color grade a photo, to actually see a green tree, for the first time. Five percent of males have some degree of color deficiency. I think a program that simplified color grading, for at least one photo for us, might be a real "money maker".

I know right! I wish I could. I have studied the depths of Color Deficiencies but there are about 4 of them or something like that. That makes it hard to make predictable results for all kinds and I can't see what they see to unsee what they see to make something help them see what I see. Lol it makes my brain hurt a lil
In my color printing days at National Geographic I used all these colors to help printing. That knowledge of color theory rally helped when I switched into the wonderful world of Photoshop.
No words. This is the second one I watch and is even more insightful. Congrats buddy. But I am sure you have been told that...

Awesome! So glad to hear your enthusiasm!
Blake...when I first watched this, I was confused (and maybe a little bit intimidated). Having watched it a second time--with PS open to a landscape image--it all makes sense. As a former instructor in a corporate technical education setting, a key to assessing my own level of understanding of a topic is whether or not I'd feel comfortable teaching it to others. I think one more viewing of this fine video will give me that comfort.

That's a great way to look at it. Glad it settled in the second time 😁
Just rewatched this and found it very informative. Most especailly the tip about toning down very bright areas and avoiding the tone compression that comes with curves - of course I had forgotten that
Thank you. Very nice of you to make them & give them to the people for free.
Wow, thank you. Just ran your actions on an old landscape image I had and the results are great. Excellent tutorial, this is something I can use, and so glad you have explained it so easily. Cheers!
You've done it again, Blake. Thank you for all of your efforts. If only it was as easy to get my head around some of the other stuff I'm supposed to be leaning!

Much appreciated Blake. Christmas really has come early this year with videos/actions such as this one, the new Dodging & Burning technique, fixing Highlight blowouts etc. You just keep coming up with new techniques that are significant improvements to editing from your devotion to color theory. For anyone that hasn't seen Blake's 'Photoshop 30 days to Mastery' course it is excellent value for money for the content it contains.

Wow, what a great comprehensive video, Blake. I really appreciate your time and effort and am going to use what I learned. Thanks.
The idea of using the adjacent colors to intensify the chosen color is a new one to add to all the other color theory you have taught me. I couldn't help myself. I downloaded the actions before I watched the entire video. But I did watch the whole video. Can't wait to play with the actions and to figure out how to do the same things with Palette Effects.

Thank you so much! Great new technique. Blake, you are the man for color management!!
Hi I’m an illustrator, I use a few programs that I draw/paint in & generally PS to tweak colours, intensity etc. I’ve not used this though, what an awesome tool... I can see me using this more than any other adjustment, not only to get more intense colours but to create more muted tones where I need, in a much more elegant way than just adjusting saturation. So thanks, this was a great video.
Wow, thank you very much. This is the first time that I’m really understanding Coloring...

I thought I was the only one to throw out a bunch of color pickers and see what color adjustment sliders do :) Most videos are vague in how they try to explain color manipulation but this is best way to understand it.

@@f64Academy I did notice this tool behaves in an odd way. Sometimes it changes the K value when adjusting colors, making the image darker/lighter at the same time. Probably this was designed for printing adjustments so it takes into account how printers reproduce colors.
I do a lot of portrait work and many a times have struggled to get the skin tone the way I wanted when it gets printed on a brochure. Looks like I have found a solution to this. Will try this on my work and see. Thanks a ton for these tutorials and the actions you give off, FREE.
