    I wish you would have talked about the pathophysiology of insulin sensitivity at each trimester of the pregnancy. It seems to be a big topic area for Saunders. Thanks! You da best :)

    Why is it safe for our blood sugar level to be under 140 an hour after a meal but dangerous if it's over 95 when fasted? For e.g if my level is 120 after a meal that's good but if it's before a meal it's not. Are high fasting levels (over 95 but under 140) dangerous to the baby?

    thats because after meals your blood sugar is supposed to rise ,since you consumed carbs which then turn into glucose. But your body not being able to bring sugar down after fasting is problematic

    @@areejzeeshan4575 Thanks for your response. Perhaps you could answer another question I have lol. I've just had natural yougurt, fruit and nuts and my blood sugar was 157 30 mins after eating. Then it came back down to 138. Is it normal for the spike to happen that early on? Does the level at 30 mins count or only 1 hour?
