Bro I’m a Sox fan but that swing by raffy when it was at his feet was funny as hell. I’m glad he’s kinda over that now

@@Gruntbaseball I think it would have been better for the home runs to be with all the other clips. That way we get to see how they each adjust to the other. We could see Raffy adjust to Cole in plate discipline and Cole try to adjust to Raffy after the homers.

7 for 21. Not bad for facing one of the best pitchers in baseball.

I watched devers hit his 2nd homerun off Gerrit Cole's changeup, it was genuinely just crazy. Anytime I see a mound meeting before a Devers at bat I call it a Raffy Press Conference

The movement on Cole's pitches aren't anything to write about (Cortes is my boy!) , but he really paints the edges. That fastball up and away (in or just outside) is merciless.

I mean is curveball is in the 86th percentile of the league, so it moves pretty well

Devers has 7 career HR off Cole that's pretty impressive and i love it

No you can't. Editor saved all the Homers for the end of the video. It's not like he homered in all of his last at bats😂

Pretty balanced id say, Devers somehow drives balls that should be left alone.

so in total, I got Devers going 6 for 23 against Cole.

Absolutely true - He did not hit well one pitch that had good movement on it as in the first 2/3 of the video.

It's still Cole's fault for not having good control and throwing it down the middle.

Slashline of .233/.324/.833 for and OPS of 1.157 for Devers against Cole. Very good but Cole pretty much turns him into a three true outcome machine.

Devers definitely got better at hitting fastballs in 2022. He does chase quite a bit, though a ball anywhere near the zone could leave the park.

After 2022 Cole relishes in his efforts to embarrass Devers at the plate .. 😂

7/21 with 6 HR's and 4 BB's? That's pretty great for the hitter. A .333 BA and a .523 OBP. He'd win the MVP if he faced Cole every AB. lol

.233/.324/.833 for an OPS of 1.157. Walk rate of about 12% and he’s averaging a HR every 5 ABs. The strikeout rate is still very bad but calling this matchup anything other than Devers absolutely dominating Cole is a joke.

@@IAmDonut_ you gotta admit, Coke has humiliated Devers at the plate on multiple occasions (whether it’s 99+ up in the zone or a knuckle curve at his feet, Devers got fooled). That being said, Devers has hit multiple homers of Cole (then again who hasn’t? Out of the 78 earned runs Coke let up, at least 33 came from home runs). It’s really quite even, Cole makes Devers look like a minor leaguer sometimes, Devers takes Cole deep sometimes. It’s pretty even. Also, before you pull up the stats, not everything in life is quantitative.

So the guy knows how to pitch to him. Good hitters need to be tested with good pitching. Obviously they'll crush them out if you're pitch good balls
