This song was just too artsy and sophisticated for Eurovision. Same with Azerbaijan and Latvia this year. Granted, sometimes Eurovision does let art prosper such as 1944 winning, Love Injected and Rhythm Inside making it in the top ten, Suus making it into the top ten, and I Feed You My Love getting into the top ten but usually? It’s love songs and ballads that get the success.

esc fan since year 2000. this is not just a winner for 2011. this is the best thing that ever happened on esc hands down. I mean it's 2017 and Belgium will do some serious magic plus Norway was once close IF instead of Silent Storm they would have sent High Hopes.. But Taken By The Stranger is by far the best song on esc and perhaps it will stay like this forever ♡
