If it makes you feel better one of the just starting boxes are mostly what you need to play a full game at 1250. Maybe another box of infantry for variation is all you need

I've never seen Josh so excited to play a game before.

Super cool to see some bolt action on the channel! Also just thought I'd point out that the weapon penetration affects the wound roll on infantry too, the Mortar hitting the machine gun team should have wiped them all out (2" HE template has a pen of +2 so killing regulars on 2s) 🙂

So happy for Josh that he finally got Bolt Action on the channel!

Sounds like Matt needs to make a Bolt Action or Konflikt '47 narrative campaign.

Holy molly. I’ve heard a lot about Bolt Action but I’ve never actually seen it. This was awesome and the turn mechanics make it so intense! Love it!

This was AMAZING! I love that this game is similar to 40K but obviously a different setting, which is fun. Also, I am SOOOO glad you guys are mixing up the background music. Overall fantastic game Luka and Josh, thank you.

Next battle idea: Soviet Soldier vs Orks.

You could actually do this with Heroes of Black Reach and Heroes of Stalingrad since the rules are compatible.

This is fantastic. The quality of MWG videos has always been top notch, and to see a new game system on your channel is wonderful. Thanks for putting this together!

Its so cool that you guys are showing Bolt Action, i remember Luka and Josh discussing bolt action in a post game discussion forever ago and I'm STILL interested in the various dice systems to shake up my local friendly games and porting different rules into things like 40k special scenarios.

As a owner of a WW2 era Mauser 98k I agree on this.

I feel the warp overtaking me, only the band of brothers can save me

The choice of music is really fitting. The trumpets definitely have that World War 2 feel to them. I've never played Bolt Action but have wanted to learn for a while--glad to see a game on the channel!

Thanks for giving this game a shot. I always found this ruleset to feel the most realistic and the best wargaming games I’ve ever had.

Bolt Action looks pretty cool. I think labeling this as Bat Rep Episode 1 is very encouraging (you must hope you can make more of them, if enough people respond positively).

I bought an Imperial Japanese Army box not too long before the pandemic, and as a result I haven't had the opportunity to play Bolt Action yet, but I am super excited to give this game a chance soon. I mostly play Warmachine, but this seems like a fun change of pace!

@@kryptic83 Regular mortar is the way to go. Inexperienced cant take spotters and mortars out in the open are often sniper bait. You really don't want to lose that command die, and you can also often cover most of the board with correct spotter and mortar team placement

I love Bolt Action game and I am glad to see a battle report on the channel. You should do it again!

Great to see some Bolt Action guys, thank you. Quality BA reports are in short supply! Please keep it up. One note, mortars add their pen value to casualty rolls. Normally not a big deal unless your mortars are on fire like this match!

I've been watching quite a few Bolt Action battle reports, and browsing a quite few of their models on Warlord Games. I've always liked your content Miniwargaming, and find it refreshing you are giving Bolt Action a try. Really like the gameplay, and the mechanics it has for it. Not to complicated, but not to streamlined for players. Looking forward to this video, and I have done my civil duties. Left a comment, and a like to your video.

Yes, and the dice in the bag is a pretty good in showing the chaos of WW2:)

Never seen Bolt Action played before and really enjoyed seeing a different rule set for tabletop game from GW games. Really enjoyed this one! Hope it keeps going and there's other game systems as well in the eventual future

@@ravajaxe Only germans and Americans had assault rifles. But an imperial guardsman looks cool whether he has a bolt action rifle or an assault rifle or a las gun. He's a human in a grim dark universe.

Mostly correct; however, "loit-nunt" would be a little closer to the German pronunciation of the "a" in "Leutnant"

I feel that even though Warhammer is more populair, Bolt Action is easier to get other people to start playing
