I love how dogs tilt their head when trying to understand.

Probably wanted it with mustard on rye bread. Teeth looked like meant business!

I did not understand why he did not go for it right away; He sort of looked at me as if to say what is this crap. LOL

This Shepherd is quite a handful. Last week a guy got too close to me. As you may know shepherds are very protective. The dog lunged at him and tore his shirt before I could get control. Luckly, he did not get bitten as he allowed me to just pay for the shirt.

Years ago, with my other Shepherd (the one I use as my channels mascot) I had given him a huge meat bone. A few minutes later I found out we had company coming over with a small child. I knew the dog would try to protect the bone and was afraid the child might get too close. When I tried to take it, I got a huge gash in my hand that took months to heal. Another thing I learned: Even if you are bitten by your own dog don't tell the hospital because by law, they must contact your local animal control as they did. Never had any more issues with that dog, He was a great dog as I say that in the past tense because he passed away last month.

@@richardspaulding5035 Its kind of a catch 22 because "fight bites" carry a huge risk of nasty infections because of what an unclean place the mouth is. But if you make up a story about being bitten by an unknown animal next thing you know you are onto the rabies shots etc. But in order to get the proper medicine you need to let the doctor know exactly what happened. Probably better to go to your personal physician instead of the hospital and hope that patient confidentiality is maintained.

@@helfrie Of course you are correct. The dog had to be quarantined for a while and the dog officer labeled him as an aggressive dog. Fortunately, we had no more incidents, and the dog lived a happy live until he passed last month.
