I was almost afraid to post this thinking I might insult somebody. LOL

i taught my kids the basic rules of assembling anything put all the bolts on by hand make sure they are easy to turn if not turn em backwards till they click in place, then tighten them evenly and make them all tight only about a 1/16 of a turn past snug or you will strip them.

Did you end up replacing the crossthreaded studs or did you just used a tap&die set to repair the threads? That would be a good topic for another video, too. Thanks

I zipped down to AutoZone and purchase 2 new lug nuts. Then I very carefully chased the studs. I would have liked to replace the studs as well, but it is very difficult on those Ram pickups. You must drive the stud partially out, cut it off then drive it out the rest of the way. The new stud must be sort of shoehorned in as you pry on the backing plate.

The wrecker driver should no better. What a jerk.

It was a very young kid, must have been his first time changing a tire LOL. I did not report him to the tow company, however he did not get a tip. The next day I just replaced the lug nuts and chased the studs.

I would of lost my mind!

I was not too upset as I had the equipment to deal with it. He did not however get a tip.
