It's absolutely despicable to learn about the extent of the corruption in Germany by Azerbaijan who is ruled by a dictator, whose people live in poverty while the elite drown in dirty oil money! So disappointing that a country like Germany who stands for democracy and human rights is allowing this kind of behaviour from their politicians! And they want to bring their values and principles to less developed countries!? There should definitely be a proper inquiry about this horrible affair! Germany must show what values it is pursuing and where it stands!!

In April 1992 I was working as an executive cameraman & news producer for Mega Channel, Greece and together with a Greek woman journalist we were accepted in the basement of the ministry of Defence in Baku. The father of the current president was the minister, commonly called those days: minister of war, the undergoing war between Ajeris and Armenians over Nagorno Karabach strip. It was obvious that western Europe intelligence services were strongly helping the Ajeri side...while Armenia was suffering a 2 hours per day electricity...It looks that things are more or less the same today...Well done dear DW

German politicians? That’s very sad. We are here in Eurasia imagining like West Europe is the place were no corruption, with all human rights, everything is bright, nice and clean... Feels like a lost of hope. Thanks to the DW for as like always a high quality documentary.

There were many political figure accused for making profit for mask when supply was less and demand was too much in Germany. It is simple western countries has systematic corruption and thus cannot be seen while in East the corruption can be seen because the funding is less. My friend from Nigeria told that their government showed the bridge made by them on paper which was never built actually while is west the people have already figured how to do corruption. They try to make money by adding inferior material or giving tender to their own family member to make money or making a shell company.

haha thats hilarious. I'm a British citizen and let me explain something my friend. Western countries are simply more experienced at corruption and proffesional at it. They are the root cauase and most have many millionaires and billionaires from Russia and even ex-soviet countries here taking refuge. Politicians who were very corrupt from Asia, South America and Africa all call UK, America, France, Germany and other nations home now. The whole system is corrupt and setup in such a way, if a country somehow manages to get good government they will find many problems all of a sudden by the elites. It makes me sad seeing how alot of people still don't understand how these things work and think that the powers of the west are somehow good, the people are nice but the governments are just plain evil.

Azerbaijani government based on its president's speeches wants along with their turkish brothers in blood, the elimination of the Armenian people. The authoritarian dictator fascist regime of Aliyevs (both father and son) through this 30 years did bring Azerbaijan to a very Armenophobic (hatred towards Armenians) state of mind, which makes it SO hard for both nations to find peace (at least Armenians which finally found democracy). Peace won't happen as long as Aliyev's family is still ruling. I believe, despite the fascist hatred of Azerbaijanis against Armenians, some of them are aware that both side suffered a lot and both sides lost thousand and thousands of mothers been in sorrow. Azerbaijani government grows huge hate towards Armenians and even Russians and Iranians and also growing a racist supremacy of Turkic Nations upon other nations in territory. Yet they teach these in their schools. I'll start with this quote: In 2005, the mayor of Baku, Hajibala Abutalybov during at a meeting with a municipal delegation from Bavaria, Germany stated "Our goal is the complete elimination of Armenians. You, Nazis, already eliminated the Jews in the 1930s and 40s, right? You should be able to understand us." "According to Fyodor Lukyanov, editor-in-chief of the journal Russia in Global Affairs, "Armenophobia is the institutional part of the modern Azerbaijani statehood and Karabakh is in the center of it". First in September 1918, a massacre of the Armenians of Baku took place, leaving an estimated 10,000 to 30,000 ethnic Armenians dead in retaliation of the March Days . The event was later called September Days. On 5-7 June 1919 another massacre of Armenians was carried out in Khaibalikend in Nagorno-Karabakh. Up to 700 Armenians were killed in a massacre organized by Karabakh's Governor-General Khosrov bek Sultanov and led by his brother, Sultan bek Sultanov. In March 1920 a pogrom of Shushi's Armenians occurred in retaliation of the Novruz attack committed by Armenians against the local Azerbaijanis as well as the Azerbaijani army. In the 2009 Eurovision contest, Azerbaijani security services summoned 43 Azerbaijanis who voted for Armenia at Eurovision for questioning. One of those called into questioning recalled his story. "The Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security asked why I voted for the representatives of Armenia. I was accused of lack of patriotism", said 25 years old Rovshan Nasirov. He also added that he explained that he had sent an SMS in favor of the Armenian artists, as he liked their theme more than the one taken by the Azerbaijani duet. One of the officials of Azerbaijan's Ministry of National Security confirmed this and added that "This is normal". Rovshan Nasirli stated that "They said it was a matter of national security". "They were trying to put psychological pressure on me, saying things like, 'You have no sense of ethnic pride. How come you voted for Armenia?'". This event was widely reported by international media. There is also a wide media coverage of some statements made by Azerbaijani public figures and statesmen which demonstrate intolerance. In 2008, Allahşükür Paşazadə, the religious leader of the Caucasus Muslims made a statement that "falsehood and betrayal are in the Armenian blood. The Azerbaijani historian Arif Yunus has stated that Azerbaijani school textbooks label Armenians with epithets such as "bandits", "aggressors", "treacherous", and "hypocritical". He and his wife were jailed for allegedly "spying" for Armenia. In 2019, Azerbaijan's destruction of Armenian cultural heritage was described as "the worst cultural genocide of the 21st century" in Hyperallergic, exceeding the destruction of cultural heritage by ISIL. This destruction included "89 medieval churches, 5,840 intricate cross-stones, and 22,000 tombstones" There are tons of more evidence of how many "Jihad against Armenians" word carry the national songs of Azerbaijan. There will be no peace as long as Armenia is located between 2 authoritarian fascist nazist militarily strong dictatorships who are waiting a spark of some war to continue and finish the Armenian genocide. Name Karabakh was given later as turks would get killed when trying to conquer that region. Only when Armenia fell in 1920 (after turks and bolshevik army attacked and divided Armenia in between), turks were able to get to Artsakh. In Armenian Shushi up to 20 thousand Armenians were massacred in 1920. So if you are from Shushi, your grandparents could have been among those murderers.

They have to, because I pay for it! xD 17,50Euro every month paid by 40Mio germans. We had a big discussion over the last years, because they totally missed out people, who didnt watch TV or listen to the Radio(,basically me^^). Slowly it gets better. Nonetheless they have to step up their game even more, because 17,50!! Its basically 4 times schnitzel with small fries, ketchup or mayonesse, every month. Edit: I forgot to make a smiley --> :'D

Thank you again for the amazing video. I'll just share my opinion related with Armenophobic azerbaijan. Azerbaijani government based on its president's speeches wants along with their turkish brothers in blood, the elimination of the Armenian people. The authoritarian dictator fascist regime of Aliyevs (both father and son) through this 30 years did bring Azerbaijan to a very Armenophobic (hatred towards Armenians) state of mind, which makes it SO hard for both nations to find peace (at least Armenians which finally found democracy). Peace won't happen as long as Aliyev's family is still ruling. I believe, despite the fascist hatred of Azerbaijanis against Armenians, some of them are aware that both side suffered a lot and both sides lost thousand and thousands of mothers been in sorrow. Azerbaijani government grows huge hate towards Armenians and even Russians and Iranians and also growing a racist supremacy of Turkic Nations upon other nations in territory. Yet they teach these in their schools. I'll start with this quote: In 2005, the mayor of Baku, Hajibala Abutalybov during at a meeting with a municipal delegation from Bavaria, Germany stated "Our goal is the complete elimination of Armenians. You, Nazis, already eliminated the Jews in the 1930s and 40s, right? You should be able to understand us." "According to Fyodor Lukyanov, editor-in-chief of the journal Russia in Global Affairs, "Armenophobia is the institutional part of the modern Azerbaijani statehood and Karabakh is in the center of it". First in September 1918, a massacre of the Armenians of Baku took place, leaving an estimated 10,000 to 30,000 ethnic Armenians dead in retaliation of the March Days . The event was later called September Days. On 5-7 June 1919 another massacre of Armenians was carried out in Khaibalikend in Nagorno-Karabakh. Up to 700 Armenians were killed in a massacre organized by Karabakh's Governor-General Khosrov bek Sultanov and led by his brother, Sultan bek Sultanov. In March 1920 a pogrom of Shushi's Armenians occurred in retaliation of the Novruz attack committed by Armenians against the local Azerbaijanis as well as the Azerbaijani army. In the 2009 Eurovision contest, Azerbaijani security services summoned 43 Azerbaijanis who voted for Armenia at Eurovision for questioning. One of those called into questioning recalled his story. "The Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security asked why I voted for the representatives of Armenia. I was accused of lack of patriotism", said 25 years old Rovshan Nasirov. He also added that he explained that he had sent an SMS in favor of the Armenian artists, as he liked their theme more than the one taken by the Azerbaijani duet. One of the officials of Azerbaijan's Ministry of National Security confirmed this and added that "This is normal". Rovshan Nasirli stated that "They said it was a matter of national security". "They were trying to put psychological pressure on me, saying things like, 'You have no sense of ethnic pride. How come you voted for Armenia?'". This event was widely reported by international media. There is also a wide media coverage of some statements made by Azerbaijani public figures and statesmen which demonstrate intolerance. In 2008, Allahşükür Paşazadə, the religious leader of the Caucasus Muslims made a statement that "falsehood and betrayal are in the Armenian blood. The Azerbaijani historian Arif Yunus has stated that Azerbaijani school textbooks label Armenians with epithets such as "bandits", "aggressors", "treacherous", and "hypocritical". He and his wife were jailed for allegedly "spying" for Armenia. In 2019, Azerbaijan's destruction of Armenian cultural heritage was described as "the worst cultural genocide of the 21st century" in Hyperallergic, exceeding the destruction of cultural heritage by ISIL. This destruction included "89 medieval churches, 5,840 intricate cross-stones, and 22,000 tombstones" There are tons of more evidence of how many "Jihad against Armenians" word carry the national songs of Azerbaijan. There will be no peace as long as Armenia is located between 2 authoritarian fascist nazist militarily strong dictatorships who are waiting a spark of some war to continue and finish the Armenian genocide. Once a Turkish responsible said "we didn't do genocide, but they deserved it". It's their political hide and seek. Peace. P.S. Tatar, Selcuk, Mongol, Turkish and Azer commenters. 6-7 years ago when a US diplomat was caught in a phone conversation saying "Fuck the EU", and some months after, the US was caught tapping Angela Merkel's phone... I can now see why. 😂 Don't get me wrong, money talks in every country... But if Brussels runs anything like the CoE, dear god, what a waste of time. Very fantastic job reporting and investigating. Definitely gives me hope for Germany as a whole that this was done by a government funded media organization. 👍
