From a 40 year plus mechanical engineer who is sick of watching poor so-called 'restorations': well done, great job, I want it. Keep up the good work in the true meaning of restoration.
We have a very similar bread cutter made by the same company. It belonged to my great grandparents and we still use it on though German sourdough bread. Ours is yellow-ish with red details and a serrated blade that really pulls the bread through the blade.

Ah, that makes more sense. I mean a tough bread and the serrated blade
I have a question for you all : Would you be interested to watch a furniture restoration video or do you like only objects restoration ? Thank you 😉👍 >> kzread.info/dash/bejne/faeNrc6sg6uckqg.html

Furniture restoration would be great. But then I like to watch any restoration you perform.
A rather elaborate device to replace the simple serrated bread knife- ! 😁

Well, it serves to cut not only bread, and it gives it a clean uniform cut with a much smaller amount of breadcrumbs...

A serrated bread knife works well for home, but try to cut three or four baguettes in slices in a row and your arm will scream in agony. Thankfully normal people do that at worst once or twice a year for Christmas or a birthday, but for a bakery selling sliced bread every day this is a life saver.
No safty guard on the blade how could you restore something so Dangerous ... lol sorry could not resist. Nicely done and it's great seeing things like this restored, relaxing watching this for some reason. I like the colored expoxy line in the handle it adds character to it and shows the original was reused rather than replaced. Nice touch saving it.

"it adds character to it and shows the original was reused rather than replaced", you have understood everything my friend, glad you liked it 🙏😉
"Old German Bread Slicer - Will it Succeed to Cut French Bread ?" Of course it will! French bread surrenders so easily! Your video was a fascinating glance on how you don't really need an electric motor in an appliance. I wish I had picked up a few things like this in my junk yard days. Thanks for the video!
This bread slicer brought back some memories for me. When I was growing up in Switzerland I used to go to after school care when I was in primary school. We would get a thich slice of bread, cut by one of these with butter and a glass of milk. Good times.
You may lack some shop tools but your choice of items to restore has been fine. The video production is excellent and the finished projects look terrific. Keep up the good work. One thing bothers me, if you don’t mind, buy some sheets of sandpaper. Those sanding disks are expensive and you can buy packs of multi grit sandpaper for a lot less.
Just discovered your site and will be watching all your videos. Stay home and safe , I'm starting to restore more table fans to keep me inside. Indiana not doing so well, thanks.

I never saw you sharpen that blade.
What a beautiful lovingly done restoration. Awesome work!
I still use my parents bread slicer. It's almost 60 years old and does its job perfectly every day. Alexanderwerk was the standard brand

Awesome restoration! But believe that's the AWR 316 MEAT slicer.
That was awesome. Paint job and the machine itself. Bread looks awesome too 🤭 Well done sir

We are so ready wowowow
Very nice job! I watched a more recent video of yours and you've really improved dramatically. Keep up the good work. I love your videos.
I like that u dont have a lathe. Most of us watching dont and its nice to see how we might tackle a restoration like this
I agree with Merryl. The Slicer did come with different blades. This is definitly the blade for cutting sausage etc. For bread cutting you got a serrated blade. Which would cut even the crunchiest and softest frensh bread like butter.
A Frenchman restoring a german bread slicer, that is a sacrilege ...Greetings from Germany 😂
No stupid music, no unnecessary actions, no over the top remakes. Such class
Maybe try brazing the crack in the cast iron next time? Stronger fix but more difficult, I think.
Listening to that bread crunch was... sublime.
i follow a few restoration channels and i've seen all their videos and I was like "were are all the good restoration channels at?" finally find this one i feel like a kid at a candy store. good job!
Трещину на корпусе надо было заварить! Смазку специальную пищевую надо было заложить в трущиеся детали!
Nicely done sir, looks like the family now has a very useful kitchen appliance. This is for those who didn't know that all bread doesn't come sliced in plastic bag. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍😁🇨🇱🇺🇸
Great job. German bread is much denser. It's not made for soft bread. Looks great though.

I think it didn't work as smooth because he forgot to sharpen the slicer :D
Thank you for this video! :) I just got a slicer just like this one, which is in need for some care as well. Your video will make it easier for me to make it work again.
This thing's the best idea since sliced- oh wait...
Tu es super doué. Du travail à la made in france. Bravo
Another great restoration. I love the finish colors that you choose.
Beautiful restoration. 🙂

Hello! You are doing a great job. It takes great versatility and attention to detail to make old things shine AND work again. Especially when, like this bread cutter, it's a piece originally made in my current hometown. 🙂👍👍👍
Hell yeah I'm ready for my favorite part!
Love that you made the scratch in the handle black. 👌
Well done! The restoration looked awesome!
Incredible restoration
wait....The Germans have sliced bread now? That's brilliant. I bet it will catch on. Whats next? white wall plaster?

It turned out quite nice.
The best invention - since sliced bread!
Another fantastic job.
The blade from the slicer is used for cutting sausage and dry ham. Alexanderwerk Machine Corporation from Remscheid North rhine westphalia in Germany, produced today machines for butchers and meat factorys. Nice Restauration of the Slicer, Greetings from Germany R Söbbing

As you were slicing the bread, I could taste it! French bread is so delicious!
I don't subscribe to the ASMR fad (my volume is off) but the work that you do is incredible.
I thoroughly enjoyed this! I own the same slicer, it's just mine doesn't have the table clamp. Thanks for sharing - love the channel!

Mmmm, crusty bread .... Nice to see an old kitchen appliance like this brought back to life. 👍
Pretty sweet!
Another great video. Really enjoy your work. Agree with one of the below comments about how it would probably be more effective if the blade was serrated, though a straight-slicer certainly has its place too.
Awesome restoration
This makes me quite nostalgic. Long time ago mechanical equipment from Alexanderwerk was present in many german kitchens. My grandmother had some of their products. Today they are still in business but only manufacturing industrial needs.
I loved fresh German bread when I was over there, so good.
Amazing work.
a great resto, but dam hes come a long way since these older videos
beautiful restoration project 😊
Nicely-done. And the bread looks delicious 😄👍🏻🛠️
What a great little display piece that would make in a local bakers or sandwich shop 🥰
i was about to call the police when i saw the plastic wrapping of the bread, but the crunchyness stopped me 👍
Great restoration! But are you sure this is a bread slicer? With that thin blade and adjustable fence it might just might be a sausage or ham slicer! Just a thought. Well done.

Eu Amo esse canal mesmo sendo do BRASIL eu assisto porque é muito bom. Very good.
With the quality of your work your well on your way to 1millon subs. I’ll enjoy the ride getting there. just keep on making these amazing videos!
delicious bread 🤤
Thanks a lot for your effort! I recently have seen a lot of restorations of Alexanderwerk household items on different youtube channels. This company is from my hometown Remscheid in Germany. It still exists today, having an american offspring/shareholder company. Their products really were built to last!
Superbe réparation
Looks good
Great restoration!😀 I'll have real butter, please.
I'd have to say that the blade on that thing needs a proper professional sharpening and honing , then not even Iron rations would stand up against that blade! Great job restoring the unit, I was just wondering if you were putting a filler in that crack or was it an adhesive to help prevent the Iron from cracking further?

Нормальная такая хлеборезка. Спасибо автору что не стал трущиеся детали солидолом смазывать. Хотя, может кому-то нравится - хлеб с солидолом.
Bonita restauración. No obstante, la soldadura en frío no me convence.
