The critics and most audiences destroyed him in that role. Butler cannot sing (even his speaking voice is odd and garbly). Shame that so many talented Broadway actors didn't get a chance to shine because Joel Shumacher had a crush on Gerry.

Im sorry just watched the movie and i honestly feel attacked as a young fellow filipino because ive just noticed that jennifer lopez and gerard butler are taking part in movies that insinuate the philippines as a terrorist, criminal pirate esk country both movies (shotgun wedding, plane) to start the year leaving our country in such a perspective and bad light im also waiting on one other movie (Nocebo) that give filipino ofw's a bad light as well come on hollywood whuts upppp i can forget about (the life aquatic with bill murray) where filipinos are seen as pirates but like seriously two movie in a row to start the year not good not good!!!!
