I remember going into this show blind eyed I never read the books, nor even knew what it was about and the past 2 years since this show came out I have fell in love with it! But more importantly I fell in love with Yennefer and Geralt's story and I couldn't imagine anyone else portraying them the casting of this show is amazing!! And I am soooo excited for season 2 too come!!

He wished their lives to be bound so if one of them dies they both do. A Jin can’t kill its master so that means it couldn’t kill yen.

one thing i loved ab the game witcher 3 is that they took this story and rly concluded the last wish thing when they found another jinn and undid geralts wish but nothing changed and they realized they still loved each other

I was very sceptical and disappointed about actress Anya playing Yen. In the books/games and in my personal picture she just looks so different. Today I have to admit that Anya iS By faR THE BEST FREAKING YEN YOU COULD FIND! Passionate, professional, convincing, beautiful! She is a Bomb!!

@@yoonsunaa yeah her skin color wasn't mentioned, but of the setting, you can guess that (an Eastern European-esque fantasy). And what about the other characters? Triss? It kills the immersion to see other ethnicities dressed as Medieval Europeans when you know that Europe wasn't a diverse hub like it is today, yes its a fictional world in the Witcher, but it's set in a real aesthetic; and aren't the Northeners meant to be racist and xenophobic? They could have created other kingdoms and civilizations that are of a different race and have them cross path with the protagonists...GOT did that right.

As far as I remember Yen in the books, she is clearly white (pale), but let‘s stop talking about skin colour. We should accept, that this Series is not the books and not the games. It is a new interpretation of this universe, wich we enjoy so much. I think the producers/cast/movieteam are really trying to create something great - it is not easy to cook for everyone‘s taste :) As long as they don‘t turn The Witcher into a Hollywood-Netflix-Cash-Cow without respect to the books/games, without respect for the fans, and without passion for this unique Witcher-Universe, I will be ok with it :) And Guys! WE have Henry Cavill as Geralt! Wtf, so nice😂

The actress does a good job. But the writing of the show is absolutely terrible and not fitting to the books. No amount of good acting can fix that.

Maybe next season? we don’t know for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll have a different take on their relationship. Also they were reduced into on-off one night stands rather than months/years together like they had in the books

My gf doesn't know anything about the Witcher outside of Netflix. She really hates the story between Geralt and Yen because it was rushed feels no development or believable. I hope they can improve that. I understand her point.. I don't think it helped much making it comical how it happened either

Geralt never loved Triss, she was just a distraction and a convenient lay, the only time Geralt would ever choose Triss is if he thought Yen died, Yen will always be Geralt's one and only real love. The games completely ruined the lovestory of Geralt & Yennefer that was so pivotal in the books, the games grossly over-glorified Triss and gave Triss a bigger role and gave the players the option to choose Triss, but in fact the games are just fanfiction, they are not canon. In the books which are the true canon, it was always Geralt & Yen, they were the only true couple and Yen was always the only woman Geralt truly loves. And the REAL Triss in the books is an absolutely horrible character who betrayed Geralt, stalked him like a crazy & desperate lovesick teenage stalker & tried to rape him even after Geralt rejected her so many times. I hope the show will continue to correct the abomination that was Geralt-Triss the games created.

if you mean choosing Triss then yes you made the wrong decision, Triss should never even be an option in the games. The games are just fanfiction and not real canon, in the books which are the true canon, Geralt & Yennefer were always the only real couple and Yennefer was always Geralt's one and only true love. He is vast powerful in the middle of the book.. yen has unlimited power like ciri but not organised and deep learner like geralt.. each big villain in witcher universe was killed by geralt ... Hence Geralt can defeat stronger characters and can also be defeated by less powerful ones. Funny thing actually: Geralt is probably less powerful than Eskel (Not by much though). Again, the games made him much stronger than he actually is. Yes, he has quite some advantages over normal men, but ultimately he ist just a witcher. Yen on the other hand is easily among the most powerful sorceresses/mages on the northern parts of the continent. It's not even close when comparing her power and Geralts. And yes...I know that a prepared Witcher might be able to defeat a sorceress, but he might as well fail. Though the odds are likely not in the Witchers favour

Literally dinosaur stronger than puny human but human prepared for their termination. Similarly I accept yen is far powerful than geralt as a mage but she cannot match with prepared geralt. Even ciri... Like how Superman was humiliated by Batman and Thanos by Ironman.. the prepared form is all we need to compare

if you think Geralt & Yennefer's relationship is just based on "lust" then you really don't know their story, while their fates are tied together by destiny but their relationship is based on genuine love for each other. And the relationship between Geralt & Yen is literally one of the main and most important aspects of the Witcher story, the whole Witcher story is mainly based on Geralt's relationships with Yen and Ciri and the family dynamic between these 3 characters.

I wish they took a polish actress for Yennefer 🤦🏻

Talk about a miscasting of yennifer...

What a mediocre if not terrible cast in this series, the actors are completely different from the characters in the books or the games, not in appearance or in character. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would be better for the role of Geralt, Henry tries very hard, but it is not his character, Geralt should have been played by another actor, not him. Anya is also absolutely no Yennefer, not in character or appearance, the role of Yennefer should have gone to Eva Green or Kate Beckinsale, and Vilgeforz, it's just a joke, the way he was presented in the series and what actor was chosen for it is just a nightmare, the character should have been played only by Mads Mikkelsen, Triss in this show is terrible, she should have been played by an actress who was Geralt's mother in the first season, the only thing is that they picked good actors for the roles of Ciri, Vesemir and Jaskier, they are not bad, especially the Jaskier actor and Vesemir, but the rest of the cast is terrible.

@@anmatrix5207 Thanks for explaining, you're a genius, I know without you that the events take place before the events of the games, but they do not respect even the book canon, the script of this show is terrible, all the major characters and minor characters that appear in the books, they have clearly prescribed their appearance and character, what does Netflix has nothing to do with the looks and characters from the books, the only principle on which these "actors" were selected is racial diversity and nothing more.

Ich habe mir damals wegen The Witcher extra Netflix gekauft. Jetzt nachdem ich sehe das der gesamte Cast, außer Cavill, grottenschlecht ist und auch die Drehbücher zu wünschen übrig lassen 🤢🤢🤢 Die ganze Serie ist versaut und für Cavill tut es mir sehr leid und seine schlechte Friseurin, die es mit der Perücke immer noch nicht hinbekommen hat. Und bei Cavill stört mich seine eklige PR Freundin 🤮 Weil ich mir diese schlecht aussehenden und schlechtspielenden Schauspieler nicht angucken möchte, habe ich schon Netflix gekündigt!!! Besonders schlecht die Frauen, die eine sieht alt und verbraucht und aufgedunsen aus, die andere irgendwie der totale....... ach, egal, wech damit!! Ist nur leider sehr traurig und sehr schade, war gutes Material von Sapkowski!!!

This has got to be one of the worst series out there. Awful acting and a completely confusing cliche ridden script. 2 out of 10!
