I went to school with J.J Wiggens. Genius even as a kid

For YEARS, I used to wonder who was responsible for that fascinating sound of upright bass and scatting that I used to hear on so much of Quincy Jones' 1960s work and soundtracks, especially "Hummin'" from GULA MATARI. Now I know! This is so awesome to SEE!!

There was also Slam Stewart who did the same thing. Best seen and heard as Slim and Slam when he played with Slim Gaillard

Are you kidding me???? How can you SAY that!!! His singing is fun,filled with humor, and when Mr. Holly sings while he plays arco, he sounds a lot like POPEYE!!!!
