I was looking at guitars at Sol Betnun Music here in Los Angeles back in the early 70's when I spotted Mr Kessel in the store, I had a chance to meet him. I asked which guitar on the wall is a good versatile guitar to keep, he recommended a Gibson ES 335 hanging on the wall. I'm 74 now and still play and own that ES 335 plus 2 more Heritage H 535's. Barney was very pleasant and just a regular guy. I have a lot of memories of my musical past. Los Angeles Blues musician

I heard him live at the Barbican Hall in London in 1984 with Nils Henning Orsted Pedersen and Martin Drew. Sadly they are all gone now. One of the greats for sure. I love his composition "Hymn To Freedom". Canada's greatest ever musician.

Fats is one artist I haven't looked into. I remember liking his most popular songs, "Blueberry Hill" and "Ain't That a Shame" when I was little. My dad was an amazing musician and could imitate Fats, Loui Armstrong, and others, played bugle, piano, trumpet (his specialty), and clarinet --- basically anything he picked up!! I didn't realize I liked Fats' vocals so much until this video. I'm so grateful for youtube!

Her range is phenomenal. I've seen other singers on KZread showing off what notes they can hit, who manage a very big span of notes - but she is using about 4 octaves effortlessly in a musical context and it sounds great!

So great performance! Joe Williams is really in the prime of his mastership!!!In my eyes the best Jazz singer ever, got this special flexible/-there -is- more- to -it -timbre in his voice which is making you listening up and is addicting immediately!Rhythm/Intonation perfect! Nevertheless I feel he was a bit underrated, could be more recordings of him!! Maybe with time there will be released more treasures like this from the archives!!!! Such a shame he is gone as now nearly all the great Jazz Masters of that time!!!!!

Nothing like hearing Extraordinary Music from such a Divine, Extraordinary Musician/Singer. Could have done without "Strike Up the Band" and "Swanee." But I always say: Know your audience and where possible, adjust the Program to the audience.

Im 56 yrs old now, got saved at the age of 27. The first worship music I heard was Don Moen. I use your music in my House meetings. I was recently in hospital for 8 days with Covid. It was rough. My lungs were infected and my blood was clotting. It was the hardest eight days of my life. I woke early each morning and worshipped God, many of your worship songs came to me. God was with me every day until I got over. Thank you for your dedication and devotion, you have blessed so many. God bless you.
