I have met a couple Georgians in my time abroad and I have to say they lived up to the stereotype of being very welcoming people. Visiting their homes felt like visiting my very own family. Beautiful country and culture and some of those foods look so whacky. Would love to visit it and try it all one day. Greetings from your friend, Lithuania!

funfact: in German you can also describe the day after tomorrow with „übermorgen“. And if you want to describe the next day (so three days from today), you simply say „über-übermorgen“. Like this you can continue to theoretically unlimited days. The same goes for the day before yesterday, „vorgestern“, „vor-vorgestern“ and so on

Another high quality video! I found this channel just a few days ago and it's great. I'd really like to see an episode about my own country, Poland. By the way, here's a little fun fact, regarding what you said in 7:46. In Polish there is a grammatical construction that lets you do a similar thing. You take the word "tomorrow" ("jutro"), decline it and add a prefix "po" (which as a standalone word means "after"). You can actually do it multiple times and so "the day after tomorrow" is "pojutrze", "the day after the day after tomorrow" is "popojutrze" and so on. Of course at some point it becomes impractical but it's technically still a grammatically correct construction.

In Polish "zad" means "behind" but as a part of the body - typically of the animal e.g. "koński zad" - "horse behind/bottom" XD We also use "przed" ("pre") and "wczoraj" ("yesterday") to form the "day before the day before (...) yesterday" construction (przedwczoraj, przedprzedwczoraj etc.).

We have kinda the same thing in Swedish "Imorgon" meaning tomorrow and "över" meaning over so if you want to say something that's happening in 2 day you would say "i övermorgon" and you can keep on going so if you want to say something in three days you say "i över över morgon" and so on.

There was some mistake in the video, 5:35 you mentioned queen Tamar, but Tamar actually was a king and not a queen, even though she was a woman. Another fun fact: we have not only a word for the day after tomorrow, but we also have a word for the day after the day after tomorrow, which is "მაზეგ" (mazeg) and for the day before yesterday, which is "გუშინწინ" (gushints'in) 😊😊

as a georgian, pure respect for you. also another fact: queen tamar was actually reffered to as a king, such the name "tamar mepe" as "mepe" means king. fact 2: shota rustaveli wasnt actually in love with king tamar, as written in one of his booklets. Edit: im really thankful for all the people/youtubers acknowledging our wine culture and the country itself, each person saying at least the name of the country itself, thank you. fact time! : our wine culture is that, we get the grapes, squish them with specially washed boots (yes we squish them with our feet) then put it in a wine jar and bury them underground. wait a few years, and kabow! wine.

Another engrossing video. Stunning scenery, I must say. One thing I'd thought might be included (if briefly) would be the status of Abkhazia and South Ossetia - I imagine you guys want to avoid politics but its complete omission felt a bit odd, like doing Moldova without Transnistria or Armenia without Artsakh. I'd personally like that sort of thing at least referenced, if only in passing. Do my country next!!! The UK

@@Clock_Man_2763 Both; I was referring to the modern status, as highlighted in my response. For certain countries (eg Russia, which has a lot of border disputes) covering every region might be too exhaustive to cover, but for countries that have only one or two it would be relatively simple. To be fair, this one response does perhaps highlight why 'countries explained' show some discretion in their decision not to cover it.

But that's not appropriate for such a video because it's very complicated. There is no "South Ossetia". This Georgian region used to be called Dvaleti and here the Ossetian (Northern Ossetia) refugees found a home 300 years ago during the Russo-Caucasian War. After Russia conquered the Caucasus he called this area "South Ossetia" and the real Ossetia they called North Ossetia. Even the name "Oss-et-ia" is nonsense because -eti means -ia in Georgian. So when you say Ossetia, you say Ossiaia. Correct would be Ossia or Osseti. North Ossetia is also nonsense because there is only one Ossetia and originally these people were called Alans. You can find and compare Alania on an old map. Ossi and Osseti is a Georgian term for Alans and I don't think it means anything good 🤣

Thank you for the video from Georgia! 😁 It was really a detailed and interesting one. 🤩 Several mistakes in the video: 1. Georgian flag was really adopted in 2004, but we had very similar flag, just with slightly darker shade of red and wider aspect ratio, in the Kingdom of Georgia. 2. Tamari was not a queen, she was ranked as King. Tamar Mepe as we call her. "Mepe" means "King" in Georgian. 😊

The flag dates back to a banner of the medieval Kingdom of Georgia, it was on Georgian coins in the 12th century, also on maps from the 14th century.
