Georgias are incredibly durable despite some of the cheaper materials, especially if you don't get them wet. Mine had the steel 3-rib shank, rubber filler, rubber mid-sole, and plastic welt and heel cup. The Vibram logger sole was on there solid. The footbed wasnt even leatherboard: it was actually just compressed paper with some synthetic fabric over it. There was a leather heel patch covering the heel nails. The welt had those mini staples as well as the stitching and was a b*tch to get off. They tore through the vamp leather which was pretty beat up, so those are getting replaced, too. Mine had painted/finished black uppers. Decent quality but not the easiest to keep protected and conditioned despite using conditioner and Sno-Seal.

GB152 greatest boot ever. My modifications are these: 1) Order 1/2 size bigger 2) By a pair of Spenco Cross Trainer insoles 3) Cut insoles and install. Enjoy the difference. :) Note: I like the wide model.

*5:34** I see the old insole here. Was it replaced with a new one after sewing the welt on? I usually see cobblers replace it with a new one before sewing the welt on. I suppose it works both ways? Just curious since I like learning about the process.* *The results of the boots are awesome! You all worked very hard to make his boots even more sturdier to last for a very long time!*

@@JinsKookieJams you are correct. We did the welting before replacing the inner soles on this one. It can be done either way, before or after. When the inner sole is still in good condition and the gemming is attached to it well, I prefer to rewelt first. It helps hold the shape of the boots better. If the inner soles are in bad condition or the gemming is in bad condition, I replace the inner soles and add new gemming before rewelting. Good question!

Good Job; well done! Do you know the # for that particular Georgia boot? And can logger boots with logger heel be resoled with the sole in your video or are logger uppers shaped or contoured specifically for high arch logger sole?

Unfortunately, we don’t know that model number. Logger boots can be resoled with lower heels. They key is to not go too low. Thanks!

There really is no one brand that is the best brand for working in. There are a lot a variables to consider. People have different shaped feet, different bio mechanics and different jobs. That’s why some boot companies have different lasts and styles. I hope this helps. Thanks!

It really does look like the old foot bed in the shots where she is stitching on the welt. Then it goes to a shot of a boot with a new footbed getting a shank.

@@NewRiverBoot I could see why John asked about that. It does only show the one boot being done. We don’t edit the videos. The editor doesn’t fix shoes. He was just going for good footage while trying to keep the video from being too long. The video also doesn’t show but one sole being stitched, but both are stitched in the end.
