I dont think he would rush something out because ultimately i would disappoint him even more than it would disappoint his readers. I hope George gets to finish everything he wanted to write in this lifetime but if not ill still cherish the stories he did give us.

    @Spellcaster86 The first time I read the books, I flew through them really quickly, and then I found the ASOIAF Reddit, which made me realizr how much detail and subtlety I had missed. The language is easy/minimalist, and the plot is a page turner, but it really improves the experience to take it slow and remember all the minor characters and the details. Some of those details become important to understanding the characters and the story at a deeper level. Have fun...

    if he does indeed pass before he can finish his vision I think the actors who portrayed some of these characters should read everything that he wrote and try to channel the characters they played and figure out how he may have wanted to tie up certain character arcs and the overall story. I feel like them along with his editors would be the the only ones with enough in depth knowledge of the world he created.

  • @ufiCz

    @ufiCz

    @@Timquan. He sold ASOIAF to HBO, because D&D agreed to do TRUE adaptation of his books and D&D had only right to make that show, because GRRM trusted them, that they are true fans and they really want to do TRUE adaptations of his books. HBO couldn't even change showrunners. So yes, they had his blessing at start, but they started to make changes and fu** him over, so he stoped working on that show. Iam sure GRRM will pick some good writer to fill his gaps on his story if anything bad happens to him. Not D&D who betreyed him or ACTORS. You must understand that reading lines is something completely different then writing them. If actors play smart written character doesn't mean he is smart as author who wrote that character and that he actualy understand character he played. And even if they were able to "mimic" his writing of those characters, how could they finish his story if half of important characters and plot points are completely cut out ? Do you think every actor read +-5000 pages of GRRM books ? It's not about some elitism it's about the truth.

Mark Lawrence for that series focused solely on putting you in the head of a sociopathic little shit. As a result, the world isn't too great, but Jorg (the protagonist) is entertaining as fuck. Though the first book has pacing issues, the other two books are a great fucking time through and through.

    I recently *nailed* my first short-story deal and am currently working on 5 different novels, 1 of which I accidentally managed to get Hundreds of people waiting for (which happens to be the longest series 😭) simply by posting a snippet. I often tell my small, maybe 5k-6k max following that I'm okay because I still write faster than George R.R. Martin. I don't know if this confirms or discourages that philosophy 🤣😭🤣😭

    I hope GRRM gets a burst of inspiration and he just locks himself in a comfortable hotel room somewhere for months in cycles and just churns these masterpieces out! 🔥

    He needs to write all his thoughts down in a synopsis. God forbid he passes away do to bad health,or virus. Or old age. 9 books left of dunk and egg. 2 of game of thrones main story. ... 11 books one of which 75 percent done. Doesn't seem possible to me. Considering how long each book takes. He barely has a career of 11 solid books through 40 plus years of writing. :( at least if he writes down a structured synopsis, his world can continue through trusted writers who know his content. I hope he does it and doesn't contain his genius with him

    But the 9 dunk and egg books would be equal to one asoiaf books (9x100 pages vs twow and ados that both will be at least 1000 pages). So it would be 3 that way. Add in fire amd blood part 2 you have roughly 4000 pages to write. Assuming he’s got approx 200 pages in twow to go, and some chapters already for ados (~100 pages) and like 200 pages of part 2 of fire and blood at the point he realised he needed to split it, he’s already written 1100/4000. Now dunk and egg are much easier for him to write because they are short stories and less complex so 900 of those pages left are fairly easy. TWOW he’s focusing on now and will be done sometime soon no matter how pessimistic people are. Ados will be easier than twow as twow had to both finish old plot lines and establish the links to the ending. Ados will have a much stronger roadmap. Finally, fire and blood part 2 I don’t care about as much and again, due to the more vague storytelling, it is easier and therefore faster for grrm to write. So what is my conclusion? As soon as we get TWOW a domino effect will happen where dunk and egg will come out quickly, then maybe when grrm is 78-80 we get ados. That leaves him with up to 10 years to finish dunk and egg and fire and blood, which he could release more than 1 book per year. Now I could be completely wrong, and he could die at 75, but as long as he lives to 80 I think we finish asoiaf

    I honestly don't care about his political rant. I mean he's not wrong. Our country is a mess and so divided and toxic. No thanks to a clearly sketchy ex president who encouraged violence and hate. If you seriously think otherwise, then there's truly no hope for America.
