God if I see one more person over hype Paddy. He’s good but hardly a stand out or memorable. The actor who gets his head chopped off gave one of the most standout performances in one scene, Paddy is solid but him getting called out like he steals the scene like Ewan and Matt Smith is ridiculous at this point.

But he still wouldn't make my list even if he had the same hair color as Daenerys and rode dragons for most of his life. He's one of the GOATs among Starks though. So I have the same favorite Targaryen as George R.R. Martin. So what? He creates these characters. His favorite dragon is Balerion which would be my favorite dragon as well. Tyrion Lannister was his favorite from Game of Thrones who was also my favorite. Well, at least up to S4. Among book readers, Viserys I is not exactly regarded a good king. In fact , many readers blame him for the civil war breaking out. But Paddy added so much layers to him that he raised the character's stock from the TV show. Paddy truly deserves an Emmy. There is a Blu-ray version that will add some deleted scenes. I believe once this Blu-ray version is out, this longer cut should be the only version that HBO should keep re-airing. The version we just watched is the Make-Daemon-A-Demon cut. Sick and tired of HBO writers trying to dirty GRRM's favorite Targaryen that Matt Smith has to come up with improvisation to prevent them from assassinating his character. I'm aware Daemon isn't good but at least give him a fair shake and stop insulting his fans thinking we are all morons. Ryan Condal and Sara Hess come off extremely condescending to their viewers. Sorry if Daemon isn't written like Paul Rudd, Sara.

Also, wanna bet that the writers are going to pin Blood & Cheese completely on Daemon and Daemon alone ? I bet they're gonna absolve Rhaenyra of any bad doings there. Make it look like Daemon did it against Rhaenyras will. The writers are so afraid to show the female leads in a negative light. Which is such a disservice to the female characters. It adds complexity t o their characters instead they show them as Disney princess characters with an R rating.

*The* *Popularity* *of* *Daemon* *Targaryen* I saw a poll yesterday for the most popular character in House of the Dragon. Unsurprisingly to most of us, Daemon won. 42.2% - Daemon Targaryen 🖤 18.8% - Rhaenyra Targaryen 🖤 14.3% - Rhaenys Targaryen 🖤 8.1% - Aemond Targaryen 💚 5.4% - Viserys Targaryen 🖤 2.7% - Criston Cole 💚 1.8% - Corlys Velaryon 🖤 1.3% - Laenor Velaryon 🖤 Ryan Condal laughed at the notion that fans are more qualified than him and George R.R. Martin to make decisions about important characters. “Yeah, please explain to me and George who Daemon is as a character, everybody." Man, the HBO writers keep wanting to insult Daemon stans because many females worship him like he's Elvis Presley. The HBO writers dirty Daemon on TV, yet, he's still far and away the most popular character on House of the Dragon. Happy 4⃣0⃣th birthday 🎂🎈, Matt Smith. I think if Daemon ordered Blood and Cheese 100 times, he would still be the most popular. Daemon can bring Rhea Royce back from the dead 100 times and kill her in 100 different ways and he would still be the most popular. He's everyone's favorite Targaryen rock star. Daemon could do what Rhaenys did killing hundreds of innocent people in the Dragonpit 100 times and he'll still be the most popular. He can snap his finger like Thanos wearing the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out half the universe and he'll still be the most popular. What's his appeal? He's an alpha. He's a charismatic badass and antihero. Maybe Sara Hess only dated nerds or beta males. But lots of women are attracted to bad boys. Look at Scott Peterson, a wife-killer like Daemon. He got tons of love letters and marriage proposals. Same with Charles Manson when he was still alive. *SPOILERS* Think about this for a moment. Vhagar (the largest dragon), Caraxes (the most ferocious dragon), Aemond (the most badass Green), and Daemon (the most badass Black) all crash into a body of water. And among those 4, only Daemon might have come out of it ALIVE!! That's GOAT-level. I can't think of any character from any popular franchise who exits a show as BADASS as that. Not even Iron Man and Darth Vader exited a franchise as cool as that. 😎

Since he's favorite character in the book daemon Targaryen I wish he can asked him what he thinks of Matt Smith daemon Targaryen in the show I really wanted to hear he's opinion especially the last scene when daemon chokes rhaenyra Because of the book's readers, they have different perspectives. Some say this is exactly the character of daemon, and others say the most beautiful aspect of Damon is that he loves his family, and no matter how harsh he was with others, he was nostalgic and respectful with rhaenyra.

Viewers & critics/entertainment media need to take off the 21st century moral glasses when reviewing this type of shows. Grabbing his wife like that in the middle ages does not mean he doesn't care for her or that he is a toxic male, a red flag, and so on. That's modern talking. He snapped because of the tension of the moment, what Rhaenyra was saying sounded delusional to him.

@@tusou1247 Cheat is such a strong word when he never wanted to be married with said person to begin with. If you're not allowed to divorce and death is the only solution of course you're gonna F other people lol. He never F'd the wife he never wanted and hated anyway. Well he killed a wife that he wasn't allowed to divorce from and the only solution to marrying the person he truly loved was death. I would say Viserys was as much to blame for that as Daemon. He asked repeatedly not to marry her, even asked an out from it as he never wanted it. But was always denied. When he attacked the messenger and Rhae, all not cool but then again he didn't do any of these things out of the blue. Everything you mentioned comes from a place of reason, wrong as it may be. This is what makes him a fascinating character. He's not a one note bland character like 99% of leading characters on TV that are just inherently good or bad people. He is human, with the good and the bad. Even blood & cheese happens FOR A REASON. A SON FOR A SON. It's not just cruelty for the sake of cruelty.

That’s cool when a adaptation improves upon its source material. Rare, but it happens. I think the House Velaryon recasting makes tons of sense too, sticks out more than just hair color as the questioning of parentage. Obviously done for inclusion, but honestly I like to see more diversity for world building so I think it’s a full win.
