George Michael had one of the best pop voices ever. He was highly underrated.

Unfortunately he IS underrated. And I don't use that word frequently. He is in my list of top 5 vocalists off all time (excluding opera singers).
This is an amazing duet featuring two musical icons. Elton had previously had a big hit with this song in the early 1970s. However, this version was an even bigger hit, reaching #1 in the U.S. An eternal classic!
YES!! YES!! YES!! This performance is a nice warm up to watching George Michael singing (LIVE) Somebody to Love with Queen at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert. It’s iconic and George stole the show. It’s so powerful - George, Queen and a full choir. 🔥🔥🔥
This was one of Elton's first performance after becoming sober. He said he was terrified because he wasn't even going to have a piano to hide behind. As you can tell, he crushed it, nothing to worry about. Just before they hug it out, you see Elton telling George "thank you" Ok now let's get to George....I mean what can you say? Absolutely on of the best vocalist of all time in my humble opinion. Miss you George. This song was a hit for Elton in about 1974-75 but this version shot to #1 in the US.
George is singing so respectfully to Elton's song. He's so amazing and was a true professional and unbelievable talent. He could have blown the roof off if he wanted to with that one but chose not to. Pure class.
You will listen to this version of this song for the rest of your life! I would have listened and watched this song over 100 times. It is crazy beautiful and both of them equally showed their greatness, the band were so brilliant as well
Chills and tears. Every. Single. Time. Absolute perfection. Imagine what it would have been like to witness that performance firsthand.
EVERYTHING about this performance will not likely be duplicated. The song, the artists, the vocal performance, the swag, the backing vocals, the band, the vibe, the audience...Well, I think you get my point. 😉 ✌
Miss George so much...he was such an incredible man. Gone far far too soon x
If I could bring back one artist it would be George Michael . I adore this man. Thanks for playing his music. Please play more. Thanks and love your reactions. ♥️

Only one word for this performance, by these 2 icon singers... BEAUTIFUL❤
You owe yourself to see Elton John live. He is doing a retirement tour. Even nosebleed concert is worth it for Elton
so grateful that you chose this song. One of the best duets of all time - two of the best voices of all time! As you liked George in "Club Tropicana" (who didn't?) then you should react to this video Wham! I'm your man (official video - Directors Cut): kzread.info/dash/bejne/nXV7zpqLh7e5ocY.html . Sure you will love it :-)
I adore George Michael!! This version with Elton John was a big hit!! Awesome!!
It showed all over your face how much you loved every moment of that. Such an iconic performance of an amazing song. I still miss George. Glad to be part of your journey of discovery.
This song is painfully, beautifully nostalgic... thank you for your reaction, greatly appreciated my friend.
A dear friend offered me a free spare ticket to this very concert. Amazing time and recall being shocked when Elton John joined George on stage. As a side note, when you left the concert, you were handed a cassette of unreleased 3 or 4 tracks. Very very happy memories. Thanks for this great reaction - brought it all back.

I love this!!! GM voice gives chills. I saw GM on his last US tour R.I.P.💔 EJ is fantastic live! ❤️
George was a gift he was amazing loved this duet 31 yrs ago now and live
Love this song, even when it's just Elton singing it... George just makes it that much better!!! Watch the Live Aid (1985) version of this song... it's great too.... although anything Elton does is Fabulous!!!!
Hiya from England. i am only a couple of years younger than George so grew up at the start of the WHAM era but sadly i was never lucky enough to see him live. This song goes back to the performance at the LIVE AID concert. OMG 36 years ago!!! When George walked on to ANY STAGE he had that "SOMETHING" a type of "SWAGGER". I saw him on lots of TV stuff and still remember him at the closing ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics. When i heard George had passed away on Christmas Day 2016 i was so shocked but looking back he suffered such pain towards the end i think and he is at peace now R.I.P George
RIP dear George we love you & thank you for all that you blessed us w/while here Heart aches that you have gone home but amazing people like this fine young man keeping you alive Special thought: Sir Elton does not warm up to those he comes across easily, but when he does Sir Elton forever makes you a part of his world I love what Sir Elton shared about Bruno Mars so beautiful & genuine Your reactions always make me smile & happy! What a gorgeous gift both Sir Elton & George blessed us with Beautiful performance

hi my friend, instead of George with Queen - somebody to love - you should watch his entire performance at the concert of hope at 1993 in London. That was one of the best live concerts ever. Absolutely breathtaking.
Kelley Price & Her sisters did backup vocals on this tour..
That drummer must be the most in demand drummer in the business. I've seen him on so many things including on tour with Madonna and Michael Jackson.
Thanks again :) I have never heard George singing a song he didn't mean. I saw him live 11 times and he was always amazing. There was never a bum note - tho he did forget the words to Everything She Wants once by singing the same verse twice. That was funny because myself and all around him were shouting 'you sang the wrong verse' lol. Still, he sang it with total conviction. Oh well, he was a human being with flaws but a wonderful person. X

Such an Iconic performance from them both! I love the way they sing together, riff and harmonise too. You should check out and react to the original performance of this they did together - it was Live aid 1985 at Wembley. George was still with Wham and it was his first major solo live performance - to 70,000 crowd! You can really see the evolution of his voice and performance in that 15 years. His tone is golden 💛💛💛 So much respect, and swooning 💓💓💓
Sheer class darling… just like us! Have a lovely week full of fun and frolics

I loved your reaction all along.what a smile!this song warms up the hearts
kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk elton and george , please im a metalhead but this is a great song , this is realy true
George Michael. The name should be enough to just know you were about to witness something iconic and special. Then add Elton and you have a duet like seldom seen. I have several duets that I like from other performers. Freddie and David for one. But I have to say this performance from George and Elton sits at the top for me. I really wish that Elton could have helped George with some of his demons. Elton accepted who he is. George it took awhile. Then when the one person he loved outside of his mother passed away George just was never truly happy again. That saddens me. He will always be missed. Even my children like George.
George Michael was about 28yo here.
Love love love this
Goosebumps 💖💖🔥
That's fantastic !. I can think of a couple of other similar videos where a big star appears in the middle of a song. One is Robbie Williams and Kylie 'Kids' live at Manchester in 2000. The other one is Taylor Swift and Robbie (again) doing Angels live at Wembley

Also, David Bowie showing up at the very end of David Gilmour's Remember That Night show. I think it's so funny how they're like "oh yeah, we've also been keeping David Bowie backstage for like 3 hours to perform the last 2 songs" 😂
simply divine!! Two of the finest voices of all time.
I tend to comment on the reaction, rather than the performance. Great reaction, I like your laid back style. Well done.

I remember the first time I saw this on a big screen with an amazing, and expensive, sound system. I still remember how powerful and beautiful. Both extremely talented each sang to their fullest but as you said no toe stepping at all.I miss George's voice on, 'Careless Whispers'.. George and Elton's voice have a lot of similar qualities which makes their harmonies sound tight. There are several voices I would gladly take if I could and George's is definitely would with no hesitation. A couple of the others are: Gregg Allman, Leroy Parnell, Leslie Odom Jr, heck I'd take my voice before it changed and left me a vocal Frankenstein. Oh, one more Delbert McClinton. Anyway, thanks for your reaction.

@@PancakeMarshmallowDude you have so many more to discover, I'm so excited for you :)
In a time when 90% of the music is just garbage, there actually was a time not so very ago when artists like George and Elton made some of the best, most heartfelt music in history. Auto-tune and lip-sync were unheard of and not needed, because real voices and instruments ruled the day...Many of today's artists might be remembered for a decade or two....George Michael and Elton John's music will be listened to as long as there are people around to hear it...RIP George!
I love that you did this and you actually listened and took the fabulousness in instead of thinking what to say and interrupting it! The rumours are true Elton does have the strength to stand and remove himself from is piano🤣 Roger daltry the lead singer of the who did a great cover of this which was used for 80's vampire movie the lost boys.it has a who's who of a cast and a great soundtrack.

I would love for you to react to more Elton John.
another killer duet live…tina turner and bryan adams it’s only love.
At this time in 1991, the feud was over between them. After Live Aid in 1985 when George stole the show and didn't let Elton in. Basically Elton's song, and George singing while Elton was just the piano guy for George. If you look closely you will see the camera on Elton & him getting ready for his part and George kept going. Live Aid was a big deal and the first time "they" were supposed to sing it together. It took 6 yrs, but glad they patched it up.

@@Scooterboi60 So after reading about a dozen articles about this performance I've found nothing that goes into much detail. But...that certainly doesn't mean it's not true. That said, Elton is rather notoriously a drama hound and I can easily see him getting upset with being upstaged. I love his work; his personality...less so.
@Scooterboi60

@@brucedillinger9448 I’ve read articles as well and looked at the video. Elton does look like he leans into the mic at the start of the first verse and then again at “I can’t find oh the right romantic line” so it is possible. But through the rest of the performance he’s smiling and having a good time so ... Yes, he is definitely dramatic.
I like Elton John but if the duet wasn't with George I don't think I'd have watched it I could see you were enjoying it I was to but only cos George was singing
Love the song and your voice, but your all out of sync, sometimes the mic is not picking you up at all 😢x
