George was buried today May 2, 2013 at Nashville. The Possum was laid to rest today. His memorial service was today at the Grand Ole Opry. The father of Country music had to leave us at the age of 81 See you on the other side Possum.
George breathed life into a song.
George is my beer drinking buddy. When know body will listen,. His songs give me peace and comfort!!! I will miss the ole possum greatly.
Ronny Millsap sang this at George's funeral he said this is the saddest song he ever sang the highest compliment ever!
This man is all singer look at him his veins don't pop out of his neck when he sings . George is just the best there is the best there was the best there ever will be

Spent hours of my life buried in his music.
My God, that voice! The best!
2020 and this is still a great song/clip 51ish years since it first aired on heehaw. May his songs continue to be listened too for many more years to come 💞
This live version is amazing. You can feel the emotion, and the violins and steel guitar are better that the recording.
The great Don Rich and Charlie Justice play twin fiddles on this one. WOW !!

Probably, might be why he didn’t sing the second verse but sang the chorus three times 😊. Despite that, he was still a better singer than 99% of today’s so-called country singers. Nobody’s going to fill his shoes.
Tammy said JONES didn't know how great he was. Man here's proof.
I love country music and I love George Jones

this song should be a tribute to great Singer Elvis Presley. to his wife Priscilla who he loved until the day they laid him down so sad she couldn't gave him what he wanted the most another chance. to be w his family to be happy. but it was too late for them. Sandra Miller. I love this song by the great Singer George Jones. he was a great Singer to. but Elvis Presley was my favorite. singer. a still is I miss them both. may they both rest in peace a be Happy. @@aleksanderreljanovic these arent real comments....they are attention seeking attempts to trigger normal people by lonely anti-social misanthropes. the key is to treat them like you treat a child who is acting up and eventually they will get bored and go away
