My father was such a massive fan of GJ and now I'm sitting here chosing songs for his own funeral… this one together with "He stopped loving her today" are on the top of my list. Love

My father wrote this back in the 80's. His dream was to hear Mr Jones sing one of his songs. I had the great opportunity to meet and thank Mr Jones for making pops dream some true.

I met George personally a few years before he died and he kindly signed my old Washburn guitar for me as a keepsake from him.. I still have that guitar that has been very carefully cared for and kept well tuned. George was a nice fellow to talk to. We had quite a nice short talk together that day. I have always enjoyed Georges music and from time-to-time and pick a few of his songs sitting out on my front porch on a sunny afternoon. George made that day very special for me and I will always be grateful for that special day that's now in my memoriies of time as I too am growing old at age 76. May George rest in peace singing up in the clouds to his hearts content.

This is one of many Jones songs that most people haven't heard!! Some of my favorite songs by George, No Show, Possum, Silver Fox Jones, are lesser known than all of his top hits. Like 'Wood and Wire ' ,One of his best that most haven't even heard!!

I've been a huge fan of George since I was 9yrs old, I'm 55yrs old now and never found another country singer who could make me feel every word like he could!! When he passed away I cried like a baby for 3 or 4 days!! I can barely even listen to "The day the possum passed away!! Another little known song by George is Wood & Wire. Ole no show Jones Will live on in me as long as I'm still here on this earth, Love you George, hope you're up there with Merle, Waylon, Johnny Cash, Johnny Paycheck ,and all the old Outlaws!!

Gone much to early he had more stories to tell with song. He was the greatest singer and sang so heart felt and his voice was so smooth. There will never be another George Jones or anyone to fill his shoes. I have never heard a song of his that I didn't like. He influenced some of the best out there today. Vince Gill and Alan Jackson being two of my favorites.

What really scares me is, I seem to be slowly turning into that old man, my kids don't speak to me much these days!! And their Mama left us all in 2009, but I'm not quite ready to give up yet, not really ready to let the old man in!!!

Mr. Jones had his own personal demons....as I am sure most of us have/had, or are currently having. Some. Of my stories I won’t share.

I am convinced that George Jones was the biggest single factor in successfully keeping the depression afloat for many many years. When you go to a doctors office and you’re explaining your symptoms, the last question they ask you is: have you listened to George Jones in the last two weeks?
