I have every versions of ATMP going back to the original vinyl release as well as all sorts of previous bootlegged unreleased tracks from the ATMP sessions. I will never give George anything but a double thumbs up, but I do have to say that this remixed outtake sounds off to me. To my ears, this mix of the instrumental backing music sounds way too fresh and bright compared to the vocals. Hey, this is not a criticism, but an observation. If I'm wrong, please tell me. In any event, I will be buying the complete super deluxe of ATMP as soon as its released.

@@alcarusojr3040 I actually think George was very self-critical and had a hard time seeing his own genius- the whole album was just a loose collection of songs he didn’t want to record with the Beatles until Phil Spector went over to his house and told him what a masterpiece he had on his hands, and that My Sweet Lord was easily a #1 single. Wouldn’t surprise me if that murderer also told George how it would sound best with minimal pushback. Also, George gave his approval for Let It Be Naked before he died, which was an effort to strip away Spector’s over-production of that album- not a huge leap to imagine he’d be happy with this song/album getting a similar treatment

Was astonished that a week before the Concert for Bangladesh -- and for which I had tickets -- he (with Neil Aspinwall) and I (and a friend) were in an ice-cream shop, of all things, down in Greenwich Village. I was frozen with happiness with GH being there. George and Neil were soon on their way out, and as they left George leant down to me at my table and said "Keep Smiling!". I was 22 at the time -- and now MUCH older -- but his brief salutation then has guided my life. Could one give any greater recognition to this incredibly talented composer/performer? I think, not.

@@machiel5888 yeah I don’t understand how George fans and George himself blame Paul, but not John. John was just as dismissive of George. And at least Paul contributed important parts and was always there to work on George’s songs.

After his death, I could not listen to this song for 2 years. This and "Stuck Inside a Cloud" were no goes. Though I will always prefer the released version (I think it's gentler, and conveys the sadness of relationships that come apart a bit better) I'm happy for anything by George Harrison I haven't heard yet. Take 36 was unknown to me before yesterday. Thank you to Olivia, Dhani, and all those involved for releasing it. "Run of the Mill" is a treasure in any version.

I like the Allman brothers vibe in this one. Imagine the entire All Things Must Pass album stripped off with Spector's touch, like the Let it Be Naked album. That'd be mind blowing.

Would be nice if we could hear both versions - and then decide whether Spektor added somthing or partly ruined some of the songs. My gutfeeling is that Phil Spector should have stayed home on this one - I mean the whole sessions.

Nothing against John's Plastic Ono Band album or Macca's Band on the Run but ATMP is THE best solo Fabs album, hands down. I remember hearing it upon first release and we fans were stunned. It's still one of my "go-to" listens. Such a talent that man was. I NEVER in a million years thought we'd lose any of the Beatles at such early ages, with George at 58 and John at 40. I guess we were lucky to have them at all.

This is a beautiful masterpice, one of my favourites. Georges voices its so clear on this one, its feels like if he was singing in your ear. This tells me the remasterization of this is extremely well done. Looking forward to hear the 70 songs of this box set. Love you George, your legacy keeps growing.
