Right on Mr Foreman. A person who has no quit in him, doesn't COMPREHEND a situation where and when that happens. Full marks and a medal for Angelo. We'll never know, he may have actually added a few years onto his life. Parkinsons is a terrible disease in its later stages. 😢❤😊

Dr. Ferdie Pacheco, Ali's trainer, was once asked when he saw a physical/mental decline in Muhammad Ali. Hi answer: "After the first Frazier fight (in 1971) I noticed him slurring his speech." He was only 29 years old then.

He also sparred hard all the time. Read his biography, Ali believed sparring should be exactly like the fight. I believe the gym wars is what contributed the most in his Parkinson disease.

  • @irenegaruba6468

More damage was done to his brain by Holmes. When someone already have Parkinson’s, he shouldn’t get any more punches in the head! I believe it started after his fight with Foreman, he took a lot of punches in the back of his head where the Medulla Oblongata is. That controls the speech area among other things. It did not manifest itself right away. He should have stopped fighting after he regained that title. The third fight with Frazier, and later with Spinks, Ernie Shavers,(the hardest hitter of them all) and finally Holmes. All these made matters worse and he continued to fight. I love Ali with all my heart but the man was too stubborn! He had his sparring partners beat up on him because he thought it would harden him up. It only destroyed his health. But the man himself could not be destroyed. That gorgeous fighter would always be the Greatest of all Time ❤

Ali had been deteriorating before his team's very eyes for years. They ALL KNEW. What kept him there? His NOI buddy Herbert Muhammad, who rode that cash cow to the slaughter shed. Angelo knew, ferdie knew and left at the 11th hour, and despite Foreman here stating Angelo called a fight off, stayed till after midnight.

But Ali did have one more fight going the distance and losing on points to Trevor Berbick in the Bahamas. It turned out that in the Holmes fight Ali was on Thyroid Meds that Affected Him badly. Holmes definately eased up on Ali when Ali had Nothing left. And I believe Berbick did too at the latter part of the fight with Ali. I wish Ali had Stayed retired after His Historic Third World Title in the Leon Spinks Rematch. That would have been a Great Ending to His Career.

It's not Larry Holmes fault, his illness started before he fought Larry Holmes, probably started when he fought Earnie Shavers and Chuck Wepner. his doctors had warned him to retire early, but he was adamant to continue boxing. and that made the disease worse. imagine if he obeyed his doctor's words, maybe Muhammad Ali's name would get bigger and influence more and more people.

Ali should of been done after rumble. All thrilla did was make him lose more grey matter and then the rest of them just compiled on top of it. The biggest contributers to the condition he had were #1 his sparring especially after the comeback, he'd purposely let himself be banged around #2 frazier in the first and third fights, and #3 the earnie shavers fight, Ali didnt need to take that risk late in his career. By the time Spinks and Holmes and then Trevor got to him it was way past his prime and winning days. Its funny, holmes and spinks denigrate each others victories over Ali, well, when spinks was alive he did that, but the only one who admitted they had a shell shocked fighter was Shavers. Who despite losing said just being in the ring helped his career along.

First of all Ali was already suffering from Parkinson's a few years before this fight. Second thing Angelo Dundee didn't care about Ali, he wasn't the one that stopped the fight. Herbert Muhammad told him to stop the fight, that was the only reason he stopped the fight. He was in it for the money like the rest of em. If Angelo really cared he would've stopped training Ali years earlier. He was "so concerned " about Ali's health that he trained Ali for his next fight against Trevor berbick. He was a leach like the rest of em. Overrated coach
