My first introduction to George Forman was in the 90’s when his grill hit the shelves. I had no idea he was a boxer. That guy was a monster in the ring, but a complete gentleman outside.

When We Were Kings was one of the best documentaries ever made, and it was hands down the best boxing movie ever made. George came off as the bad guy in that film, but there was a huge opportunity for a sequel...and since it was a documentary, the sequel was life. George Foreman went on to lead a life that earned the respect of millions of people around the world. Muhammed Ali was close to God, as was George. They will be a match made in heaven, and Johnny can interview both of them.
@lynettepalecek3141

Muhammad Ali was not close to God! He was a Muslim and Muslims are told in the book of Koran to kill all Christians ✝️!!! Muhammad Ali was born Cassius Clay. Then he very foolishly turned into a Muslim and changed his name to Muhammad Ali. Remember that MUSLIMS ARE NOT CHRISTIANS! THEY ARE TOLD IN THE BOOK OF KORAN TO KILL ALL CHRISTIANS ✝️! The only way that Muhammad Ali could have gone to Heaven after he died would have been for him to get saved before he died. There's no such thing as Purgatory.

Right about that. He was also the greatest set-up man ever, especially with comedians who could take it and run with it like Rodney Dangerfield and Robin Williams.
Class act George, lovable decent human being with so much integrity. I have been a great admirer of Mr Foreman since he won gold in the 1968 summer Olympics, and have had 4 of his grills through the years. (different sizes) delicious turkey burgers indeed.
Carson: "The fellow you're fighting. Is he a good fighter"? Foreman: "I hope not"!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My fav too! And always a gentleman.
Big George
Thanks for this post! Grateful for KZread!

I watched it every night, all through high school, when it was 90 minutes. Used to drive my mother crazy for staying up so late. Of course, I didn't always go the distance.
I am too young to remember Carson but man I love these clips. This guy was hands down the best. Untouchable.

I use to watch Johnny every night, miss him.
How many comedians would give up their first borns to get the reaction from Johnny that George got!! Brilliant response!
George Foreman. Not just a boxer but a fellow human being that you would be honored to have over to your house for supper. George is a true American son.
Met Mr Foreman about 10 years ago. Nicest most genuine man or human that I have had the pleasure meeting. Spent maybe 30 minutes just talking about everything.
you gotta love Big George! period.
Johnny could interview anybody and make it entertaining.
One of the great humans.
Miss those days. Carson was one of a kind. George is the gentle humble giant. Always has been always will.
My first introduction to George Forman was in the 90’s when his grill hit the shelves. I had no idea he was a boxer. Then I saw an old clip of him just before a boxing match was about to begin, and he had the meanest and scariest face I had ever seen. That guy was a monster in the ring, but a complete gentleman outside.
I loved Johnny and George too! I always knew Foreman was tough, but always thought he was just a big, dumb boxer, Boy was I wrong!! George is a very intelligent man, who has a very sharp wit. If he ever decided to become a comedian he would get lots of laughs. I mean, who's going to tell him he's not funny?

Just a good guy and my favorite heavy weight boxer. He had a bad rep as being surly when he was younger. His real personality with his trademark humility finally came out after his defeat to Ali.

@@MidwestFarmToys Ali did that to many fighters! He very well could be "The greatest!" Plus George was young and hard headed, figuring NO human being could stand his body punches for that many rounds, and with good reason! Ali had his game plan and he stuck to it.

GEORGE IS SUCH A NICE GUY
The main highlight of the interview is at 4:53 which also became part of Carson's final episode. And yeah, Rodrigues didn't do well against Foreman which lasted only two rounds! So... 😅
Time 3:33 "ring" A square "ring", fun to hear that quote. 6-22-2022
This is not the George Forman of old. He was young and full of vinegar then. Now he is a gracious, intelligent and classy gentleman.
When he was talking about eye contact and that he hoped Joe Frazier wouldn't look down or he would see his knees shaking, that was something he didn't have to worry about. Frazier was a man's man. He would stare a hole in you.
"Now, is he a good fighter?" "I hope not" 🤣🤣🤣
George Foreman is really funny!

They recreated this clip for the upcoming Foreman movie, probably one of the best interviews George ever did during or prior to his second reign. The more he spoke, the more he resembled what he had learned working with and closely observing Sonny Liston in latter life.

FUNNY. Johnny being so “sheepishly” funny. With the whole ya know I DIDNT SAY THAT. Ah ha haa ha.

George Foreman is A Comedian
Just don't shave your eye brows, hahahahaha! That is a Good Godly Wife!
Foreman and Carson. 2 great humans. Celebrities aren't like that anymore.
George and Joe Frazier have more class than 90%, or more, of anyone I've ever met, in or out of the ring. God bless them both, and if using "God" offends someone, bite off, then go tell George....

While working an HBO boxing event, Foreman was walking toward my friend and I. I said hello, Mr Foreman. He looked at me, looked at my friend, who is the same skin color as George, and said hello to him. My friend did not speak back and we both agreed to never buy one of his damn grills after that.
