I was glad he got with P-Funk; was sad when he died...
We use to see the Spinners back in the 70’s at the old Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, New Jersey , when they use to serve hot food called supper clubs .. Sister Sledge would open up the show for them. Damn what a show !!!

Those few years or months with p funk probably took it toll on Mr. Wynne. I'm sure the spinners partied but I doubt they did what P funk did and not as hard as P funk either. But George was a genius in bringing him in for this big hit

To see Philippe Wynne actually on stage . . . fantastic, I will appreciate it!
Anybody who would thumbs down to this..simply don't understand.

What a horrible shame that we no longer hear such beautiful voices from the likes of Phillipe Wynne and Bobby Smith, and songs like his anymore, all replaced by absolute, purely evil filth.
Philippé Wynne DOING HIS PART ON KNEE DEEP.................... JESUS CHRIST!!!! THEY HAVING FUN!!!!!
Wynn’s Voice is underated
I think this is the first time I saw p funk doing synchronized dances lol awesome!
This drummer…the vamp the band does @22:30 mark; before Philippe comes out is hypnotic… the spooky backing vocals…”Ooooooo”

@Rob Oliver George did the vocals on the original record tho. Garry would sometimes do those same lead vocals in shows tho. sometimes both he and George were the co-vocalists.
Wish there was a complete concert somewhere lingering in the shadows of KZread. I belive this entire show to be THE BOMB. Even the Beverly Theatre show isn't as good as this one.
I knew Phillipe's style reminded me of someone, but I could just not put it together? One day I'm listening to Sirius/XM radio, and I heard Summertime, by Billy Stewart, and bingo, there it is!!!
What a beautiful musical legacy.
What a star. He’d have become massive on his own had he been with us longer. Wish he had more time.
Back when this song hit i was about 8. I actually thought it George Clinton singing Philippe' Wynne's part. I used to be like damn Uncle George is jammin! But it was ol boy Philippe' Wynne from the Spinners the whole time. LOL😁! L8TR👊! KEEP THE FUNK ALIVE 🤘.
Gary Shrider (in the diaper) had a voice like no other !!!
Glenn was not your average voice! I see why they thought Phillepe would fit! He was not your average voice either!

@ Melvin Martin, that's the Best part of the shows back then the Background Dancers were Out of this world! I would go just to watch them learn the steps, and hit the Dancefloor.
Glenn Goines was my favorite, But tied with the great Philipe Wynn (Spinners Fame). This is a great live version so true to what the recording.

I saw the Spinners in 1976, my first concert. I was 5. Discovered P-Funk the same year. Yep. 5.
I always thought Phillipe with P-Funk was a weird mix. Phillipe being a smooth tuxedo and suit wearing vocalist with the complete beautiful madness that was P-Funk...but we damn sure got an all-time classic out of it.
@randyeno

Not a weird mix at. Phillipe Wynne was a part Bootsy's band in the pre-Rubber band era. Check it out. Funk facts!
I was lucky enough to have him singing in my band :-)
Still trying to wrap my mind around Phippe Wynn backed by P-Funk.
He can ride a vamp like nobody's business
I love watching Jessica enjoy herself, one of my favorite vocalists besides Donna Summer & Laura Lyro
