I bought this and his other three records for Capitol when they were released, and (listening to this now), it sounds as powerful as ever. This track, in particular, has an infectious quality that allows the listener to replay it internally until the mind lifts the needle. Timeless perfection!

just to think these dogs been doing it before the synthesizer, before the digital age, back when it music was raw dog, ruff and funky. the synth digital age just elevated the funk as high as you want it to be, and how deep it can ever be. it’s not just knee deep in the funk.

@Cenica Edwards Prince bit off that line a helluva lot during the 1999 days. He used to have the Revolution chant that during live shows. There's a performance of DMSR where he does it. I believe it's still up on KZread.

In the 70's I was a Parliment/Funkadelic fan! If this had been release right after Knee Deep or Agony of Defeet, on Parliment or Funkadelic, this would have fit right in with their continued big hits. The djs could just play hits from either Parliment and Funkadelic and the parties would have been off the chain.

Actually he was taking potshots at Rap Music. Rap then was ran on a loop. Some still is. Like Planet Rock it just don't stop. Planet Rock was a annoying rap song in the 80"s.
