A very rare player who had literally everything; blindingly fast, tremendous shot with either foot, mesmerising dribbler, great passer with vision, good in the air, great crosser of the ball. Plus he was a good tackler and ball winner and despite being quite small and slight was incredibly difficult to shake off the ball. A phenomenon.

There were some hard sliding tackles coming in at him, as well as plenty of other strong physical attempts to stop him. No comparison to these days where at the least touch, the player goes down and you'd think they were maimed. Not to mention having to control the ball on pitches as churned up as a building site. Yet Best still moved balletically, and was strong in shrugging off whatever they threw at him. His talent was astonishing. Still is.

The ball back in the 60's was required to be the same weight as the ball is now. however, due to the material it was made with back then, when it was used in wet conditions it would become heavier as it absorbed more water than modern footballs. So, in the majority of the footage of Best playing he is using a ball that weighed the same as the balls used now. There you go, I hope that made sense. If not I can link to an article all about it.

Modern times ?? which modern time players play like this other than one /two like Messi , Neymar? Lol. Most of these players these days don't even have the skills , technique. Full of Robots and athletic players . Like Mbappe , Foden etc are being considered the future of football shows how the top level talent has declined Back in 90s 80s there were way way more technical players , skillful players than these robots we see these days since 2010s. Players don't even play for the joy , skillful or even have that level of technique Thats why robots like Salah , KDB etc gets best in the world shout. There is no this or that times player Infact top Players back then in older eras >>> robots now just pressing and without individuality , magic etc (bar a few) 60s - Pele , Eusebio , Best, Garrincha , Sivori , Rivera etc so many technically astute players 70s - Cruyff , Becekenbaeur , Rivellino , Jairzinho etc 80s - Maradona , Platini, Zico , Francescoli , valderamma , falcao , Basten , gullit etc 90s - Ronaldo , Romario , Zidane , Rivaldo , Totti, Del Piero etc where are the players now other than messi and Neymar? Cr7 is a eyesore , robotic footballer. This is the generation of robots

What never changes over time are the gifts incredible footballers share: 1. Acute spacial awareness. The ability to know instinctively the best place for the ball to be at any given time in relation to you, your team mates and the opposition. 2. The ability to kick/touch the ball so that it does exactly what you want it to do, whether that be control, passing, dribbling or tricks. 3. The ability to react more quickly/predict what the opposition will do based on what the ball does. 4. Speed. Everyone can learn these skills, it's just that incredibly gifted footballers learn them far more quickly than anyone else.

Best never faced defenders with the bullish talent of those today nor the sophistication of modern defensive systems - not even close. @@johnpacino007 Omar Savori was a fantastic dribbler, yes but to me he belongs to the early and middle part of the 60's. I started to watch football in the late 60's and the three I mentioned were my favorites and some of the best dribblers in football history. Florian Albert was an exceptional player, to me more of a playmaker than a pure dribbler of the ball. Dzjajic was also a great dribbler from the late 60's and early 70's. In the late 70's you certainly had Rensenbrink and the exceptional Töröszik from Hungary. All amazing dribblers of the ball and great entertainers! :-)
