Dear George Benson what a musician.....he came to Australia several times and how lucky was I to have met him, an old groupie??? I can listen to him always, Absolute Benson, the best and anything with Joe Sample and Earl Klugh.....

WHAT a fantastic musician George is, totally unique in his style. His knowledge of scales, chords, phrasing and improvising is so impressive absolutely no one rivals him. Sure, many guitarist can play jazz and play it very well but George is on a different level it's so evident. EVERYONE listens to his music to try to steal licks. It's not easy to play with fluidity, grace, speed, skill, improvisation, creativity, deptness, smoothness, power, character, soulfulness and passion and he makes it all look effortlessly. Need I say more... Simply the best EVER!!!

In fact. Few of the newer guitarists play in his style, and I think it is basically because you need so many skills to pull it off that most give up.

Masterpiece/masterclass of a Smooth Jazz/R&B musician/guitarist, composer, arranger, producer, and singer! This song is absolutely "Deeper Than You Think"! Pure harmony, soul, melody, and moving rhythm! I've really come to appreciate his style and the beauty of his musicianship. Total class

Not only is he totally Brilliant, he also appeals to non Jazz fans, he has a beautiful guitar tone, and those fast guitar lines hit you right in the Hart.

This is awesome music. As always, GB is so great on the guitar, and Joe is smokin' up those keys.

I bought this on a DVD few months after it was released... I must say it's piece like no other especially this performance with the great Joe Sample absolutely breathtaking ✨☺️💯🙌

True story : in year 2000.....in a ramshackle mom and pop shop...they were clearing out old old cassette tapes...there was one ....Best of George Benson CTI records....never heard him much, only exposure being his live Grammy performance scat singing....then ....on my headphones ....that album reworked my brain! Life changing collection George Benson became my guru....! In the Summertime CTI live recording is one of the greatest songs ever....listen to it. I collected all CTI records....audiophile gold btw.

Thoroughly agree with you. I have seen GB in concert several times and the band have always been terrific. GB didn't hog the limelight playing the big star and we could hear each band member's skills. Great shows xx

Also a superb human being. Had a long talk with George after a gig here in Vancouver, reminded him the last time I talked with him was in Boston in the early 70’s. He was playing at a small local Jazz club, hardly anyone there. I told him back then how much I loved what he does, he replied “wish more people in this world would feel that way”. Now they Do ! Live long George / Big GB fan since the Cook Book days.

The rhythmic on the guitar solos(phrasing) are so beautiful as well as the piano man !

It was never easy for an artist. It's a skill he developed through the years because of his intense interest in his instrument.

What an amazing musician, I can't wait to see him in the flesh tomorrow night, so soulful...

Without the awesome bass this tune would not have the depths to flow and would never sound as good. Who is this bassist ? Tell him he is one magician as well! Of course George and Joe leave me speechless. Yes and the drummers perfection ...mm

That is so true, Bo Reed. I try and learn from George every time I watch him play. Wes Montgomery is amazing too. Love Chet Atkins also, Jeff Beck is on his blow by blow. Santanna hits the licks. This how you learn the best stuff.
