It’s tough to be Geordi sometimes. Tries to have a relaxing time, but ends up being captured and brainwashed by Romulans instead.

SciFi tech is always a reflection of the current state of technology when it was written. Even the Discovery-era computers are way better than TNG because ours are way better than those of the 80s-90s.

Shuttle will take three hours to get there...which means the Enterprise could have gotten him there in about 45 seconds.

Probably wanted to stay outside Risan space to avoid traffic or docking fees in order to drop off a single person.

The whole Enterprise probably had to drop out of warp around there anyway. Inner stellar systems are probably no-wake zones. ;)

I'm sure Riker could have convinced Picard to drop off Geordie.

Two things I question, how far away did they drop off Geordi that he had to go in a sublight shuttlepod where the Enterprise couldn't just fly to Risa and then continue with the mission? Also, why is the future so boring that you need to play trivia games with the computer instead of watching an old movie or tv show from Earth's past?

0:29 and 0:31 - that's exactly what made me dislike this scene, but I think it's more stupidity-from-Paramount-type interference in the execs. Spaniards are not non-white, Hispanic, Latin with Latin English accents one bit. They're white with Penelope Cruz English accent, despite the sometimes Latin-sounding accent. Nuyoricans and Italians are non-white, Hispanic, Latin with Latin English accents. Spaniards say "scumbag."
