Honduras has the second largest-beautiful coral reef in the world, with the advantage over Australia, that our waters are safe, no dangerous animals! the second largest Rain Forest in America La Mosquitia, the second largest Botanical Garden in the world, Lancetilla. Honduras has the wordl famous Mayan city of Copan, called by experts, the "Athens of the Mayan world". Honduras is filled of amazing beauty, rich flora and fauna. Our mountains are filled with pines, oaks and are green always. Check the video "Honduras el pais mas hermoso del mundo", also the website "Honduras is Great". Anybody fell in love with Honduras, don't listen to the bad press, is just dirty politics. Hondurans are great, friendly and welcoming. Bienvenido!

Honduras is a place full of history and beauty, but also of stark contrasts. Some of us (the middle and high class) live almost completely apart from the violence that ravages the rest of the country. You can live pretty much your entire life without facing any threats from gangs, of course you still have to be more careful than in other places, keep a low profile, don't go into dangerous neighborhoods and you'll be fine. It's like two diferent worlds, for people that have a decent enough income life is good, you can get a house in a gated community, kids can go to private schools that offer protection even on their transportation, they make sure that every kid gets home safetly, my school bus driver waited until my mom opened the door of my house to leave, otherwise he would wait a long time and if nobody opened up he had instrutions to take me back to school so that my folks would pick me up there, but he couldn't leave a kid on his own, even if it wasn't on a bad part of town. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping malls, parks, clubs, theaters you can go to for entertaintment. Every once in a while a new joint opens up and everybody talks about it, you feel a little bit left out if you haven't been there. All and all its a good life, I wish the whole population could have those experiences, sadly most can't, that's where the violence, the unemployement, the health issues, the hunger and the many other problems from which the people of the middle and high class flee from come into play. You kind of have to turn a blind eye as you're happily eating burgers in McDonald's with your family or friends and all of a sudden a poor kid with dirty clothes looks through the windows wishing he could be in there too, sometimes it's to hard not to look. EDIT: Fixed some typos

I apologize for not reading this comment sooner . In the hope that you respond , I was wondering if I could maybe get some more information about your country, laws, cultural dos and donts, cities/areas to stay away from ( as a white tourist ) . Me and two friends are looking to take a trip around the country ( preferably the islands , jungles to the east, and a small town vibe experience ) and we are trying to be as safe as possible about it . We had some bad luck in Bolivia and Brazil so we are trying to do this trip a little different I should say . Any information would be greatly appreciated. We do speak Spanish and we do not dress lavishly ( plain black tees and long pants, no jewelry, cash is different places , etc)

6:45 For those of you out there learning Spanish, it should be noted that "Qué onda" is used in several countries outside of Honduras as well. Some will claim that nowadays it's mainly a Mexicanism, but in Spanish classes I've been taught that it originated in Argentina and Chile. Any locals/linguists/etymologists willing to come to my rescue here?

Thanks for this video!!! Great job compiling so many facts in one video :D! Honduras is a really beautiful country but many people get scared to come because of the crime. People need to realize that, even though Honduras is one of the most dangerous countries, turistic areas are mostly safe, and if you just follow basic preventive measures (Like not going into hot zones, traveling mostly on car and not by foot(unless its a safe town/village, turistic zone or somewhere safe), not going out to the street too late at night) you can have safe vacations. I've lived my whole life here and I've not been robbed or assaulted even once. Honduras is not a war zone. People here don't live under a rock. Honduras is a beautiful country rich on culture, food, music, natural beauty, biodiversity, warm caring people, and much more. Give Honduras a chance, you wont't regret it :)

Been there, in Tegucigalpa. Very nice people, cool weather. Curious facts I noticed there: Landing at Toncontin airport (TGU) is a flight experience! when approaching you fly over the airport and make a descending 360 deg turn, with mountains side by side. By the end of that turn you should pose into the runway and apply full brakes and reverse throttle to not overrun the short runway. If failed, go back to the air and repeat the procedure. In my case the flight crew only needed one attempt. Retired US yellow school buses serve in Honduras as public transportation, with former banners still present in many cases.

Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras are all usually lumped together into something called the "Triangulo Norte" (northern triangle) due to the large cultural similarities and relative closeness of their population zones. And fun fact: all but two of the "Honduran words" (honestly it's just slang) you used is used in El Salvador as well, and I can bet there are (or will be) Salvadorans and Hondurans on the comments section debating over who that slang actually "belongs" to.

Actually as a british myself allow me to educate you on that. Best friends are Australia and US. Australia due to most of the citizens originating from Britain during a mass migration from the UK during the past and Australia being the most popular country to not only take a holiday in but also to permanently live in. America due to them acting as our main ally as ell as cultural similarities and a big proportion of white american originating from the former british empire. Canada and Spain are also good friends but of course not favourites mainly due to how popular they are, both for brits to take a holiday in giving them lots of tourism, and as some where to permenantly migrate to. Either you are not patriotic, ignorent or just plain negative in general but there you go you have now learned something.

Wow 😮, I’m impressed. I loved your video not only because you mentioned things that I Had no idea existed, even though I grew up in but because the way you summarize the whole country with key 🔑 details.👏👏👏👏😁🙏👍👍👍
