Genuine Tropic Brand Straps - Anthracite vs. Light Grey: Which Shade of Grey is Best for You?

o I personally find the genuine Tropic brand straps to be the finest Tropic-style straps on the market, but knowing how expensive ($79ea) they are, it’s great to have a chance to see both of these versatile grey colorway’s side-by-side
Depending on what you’re looking for the either shade of grey may work better but let me know what you all think down in the comments below, which do you lean towards and why?

I've picked up maybe 8 of these now from Holbens. Love them on everything I put them on.
I prefer the darker gray. It brings out the dial.
that grey is nice!
I love this Slim Turtle on the anthracite Tropic. I'm jealous.

A Seiko on a Tropic, I should have known!
This is a funny coincidence. I ordered the light grey version yesterday for my GO SeaQ in green because it will play nicely with the white lume
This looks like it came out of the same mold that Joseph Bonnie, Wolbrook, and a few others make their Tropic straps from, which is nice because they're excellent. Looks like Tropic offers more colors than anyone else too. Maybe I'll buy my next from them!
I won’t buy any rubber straps w/o the waffle pattern on the inside. Without it, rubber and silicon straps just make me sweat way too much. Thanks for showcasing Tropic I do think they make great watch straps.

If you haven’t yet, check DiveCore’s HP straps. I’ve had one in my SPB237 and SLA047 for quite some time.
Love my light grey tropic strap I bought from Holbens.
light gray for spring/summer, dark grey for fall/winter.
Like both colors. I have a Tag & a Tissot that would love those if they did 21mm. Oh well

The 22mm width can easily be squeezed into a 21mm lug, I personally use one of their 20mm on a 19mm lug, one of the benefits of how supple the material is.

@@AverageBros thanks. I’ve not had much success doing that, even with some NATO’s. But maybe worth another try. I’m

I squeeze a similar 20mm Tropic strap into the 19mm lug of my Citizen and it works fine. There's a bit of rub at first, but it takes a set quickly. You just have to swap out the spring bars.
Any advice on how to be certain I’m buying the updated version with the rolled ends? I have the old flat end version and honestly it looks awful

you can always check with the vendor before ordering but all new inventory since 2022 has been with the updated edge, so you should be good, unless shopping on eBay where it could be old stock at a discounted price
legit didnt know tropic was an actual brand
Have you tried one on a mm200?

@@AverageBrosawesome, thanks!
The real question is when in the hell these guys are finally going to come out with their short strap version they've been promising for over 4 years now... I went with Joseph Bonnie instead and haven't regretted it, much better dimensions.
Wow for the cost and the claims of “premium” quality I am surprised to see that flashing on the keeper. Makes it look cheap.
Do they smell like delicious candy?

closer to delicious playdough, lol
That pricing is insane to then be put on a Seiko. Totally worth it for a Glashutte or a Blancpain dive watch, but a Seiko!?

$79 for a $1000 watch is normal
the smaller wristed folks need a shorter version, is this even being entertained?

I’m a “smaller waisted folk” and I can wear a tropic strap without any issues.
