For the Turtledove Shawl, maybe a shawl pin will help. I have a couple and they are so great for finicky shawls and sweaters without buttons.

I looooove your colors for the traveler shawl! I also want to spin for one but I haven't decided on colors yet hehe

Get a little pin or broach for the cute little shawl

Emily, for your crosshatch, I think that you could cast on the extra stitch to do a wider i-cord from where you are at, then make an applied i-cord for the short bit that isn't as wide and basically encase the current smaller i-cord within the wider bit that you would apply at the end of the project. Hope that helps.

Don’t worry about answering my previous question… sometimes I ask a question as soon as I think about it and you already answered later in the podcast. ❤

Have you considered going up a size with your new sock yarn tension? That really helped me

Yes! I ended up doing that for the DRK Everyday socks. I started with the 56 st size I think? But now I think 60 sts is right for me 😊

You: "Does that make sense?" Me: "uh, huh. Totally. Oh...." as I realize that we are, in fact, not just sitting in a room together. Lol.

Hi Emily, how did you fix your yarn gauge for your socks ? I have been trying to knit socks for my family and for me and every single sock I make is too loose. I have done a few things like change needle size ( I’m using 1s now) change needles … nothing has helped. I love all of your sweaters and socks. The Dad sweater is one on my list for 2024. 💖

I’m hoping to learn cables soon- do you recommend learning on a superwash or non? It looks so great with your sweater I just would worry about it pulling everything down bc of sw heaviness!

I think cables can be lovely in either superwash or nonsuperwash yarn! I honestly think the cables help the superwash from stretching too much. For learning I think either would be great 😊

Totally makes sense about taking cast ons on trips … who wants to pack a bulky half knit sweater and all the yarn needed to finish (because you “might “ finish it on the trip… ) and then if you do Finish it you are stuck without a project 😱😱.. the worst 😂😂. I like to take a sweater project because u can do the 100 plus cast ons anyplace ( car , airport ) etc.. sleeves are travel easy .. but .. I prefer to knit in pieces so that helps with portability. Never take double points on plane … because they always seems to end up flying right into the crotch of the strange man sitting next to you 🙄.. ask me how I know .

I've dropped a crochet hook on a flight and had a lot of trouble getting it back 😅
