A fire broke out at approximately 4.30 p.m., according to a statement posted on Resorts World Genting's website, and a rapid evacuation was conducted. According to a first statement from the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department, personnel were dispatched to the scene at 4.55pm and arrived about five minutes later. Wan Mohamad Zaidi Wan Isa, director of the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department, claimed in a later update that the fire was extinguished at 6.30pm with no injuries.
Kudos to the fire fighters and evacuation crew for their quick work in containing the fire without causing any injuries. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
